In response to the blood test, one will NEVER be wrong. There are two different kinds-- One looks for the hormone only, and is similar to a urine test-- This one can be wrong. The other measures the exact amount of hCG in your blood. Seeing as hCG HAS to be present for a pregnancy (regardless of viability) it won't miss it.
It's good to hear that you got your cycle, but I am sorry about your house. Hopefully you get everything straightened out before too long
Hey guys i just got my period, wanted to let everyone know.. im still going to see a doctor soon about it as the period i am having is very odd.. i also have a swollen something behind my ear i am basically falling apart!! i still havent had a chance to get to the doctors due to the hurricane that just hit and wrecked my house ive been trying to clean this mess up on top of doing paper work for the military. wish me luck guys and thank you so much for your help!! ill keep everyone up dated
The thing with whether the blood test is actually true or not is my mother did not find out if she was pregnant until an ultra sound with her 1st child. EVERYTHING was negative and she didn't have symptoms other than weight gain, her mother was the only reason she went through with it.. she also didn't find out until she was 3 months along, this is the same for some of my cousins. So I do know blood tests can be wrong on occasion. Which leaves me to choose an ultra sound however, i asked for one the day i got my blood drawn and they laughed in my face as if they knew my body better than me, and that was the most absurd question they've ever heard. I don't think it's diet or stress.. I have been far more stressed in my life time and still never missed my period, I eat the same, exercise the same.. Nothing at all has changed except for my weight i have a little belly now that i cannot get off of me, i run, bike, swim, eat very well.. something just isnt right. Thank you for your comments! I'm going to call my doctor and see if she will actually listen to me this time.
missing your period could be from a number of hings, due to stress, change in diet and so on...But one thing I can't stand is when people say it's impossible to get a false negative blood test...Because I personally had two of them when I was pregnant for my daughter and they had no idea why...My doctor didn't believe that I was pregnant and I pushed for an ultra sound because something just kept telling me that I was, and sure enough I went for my ultra sound and I was already 12weeks pregnant...Not saying this is the case but it is possible and does happen to people...If you want to put your mind at ease just ask them to do one...and if you really aren't pregnant then you know enough to rule that out...and they can start looking into other things, but again it could be something as simple as change in diet or stress...Good Luck!
If you have already done a blood pregnancy test and it was negative, you are not pregnant. There are documented cases of women who for some reason or another receive false negatives on urine pregnancy tests but I don't know of even a single case where there was a false BLOOD test for hCG.
So, take pregnancy off the table as the cause of your lack of period.
That said, MANY things can cause a late or missed period. It is usually a hormonal imbalance. You need to see a doctor for a full work up including blood tests of ALL your female hormones (FSH, LH, estrogen, progesterone, hCG just to double check) AND a full thyroid panel at minimum. He or she should also do an ultrasound.
i think u should go for ur doctor..and get a pregnancy test whether ur alrdy conceived.
