High LH levels vs Low FSH levels

Hi I am 28 and got off my BC in January to start ttc.  I have either had no period or light spotting for the last 6 months.  Today I went to my OB to get my blood tests back.  She believes I have PCOS in a mild form.  My testosterone, insulin, and thyroid were all normal.  THe only issues she saw was my LH level was 16 and my FSH level was 3.6.  How do I reduce my LH level without going straight to Clomid?  Also she had me do an ultra sound the same day I gave blood and the tech said I just ovulated because there was fluid in my ovary.  Could this have caused my LH level to be so high?  Also she told me to use ovulation kits but if I already have high levels of LH with this affect the results of the kit?  I am really confused and nervous about getting pregnant.  Any thoughts on my Levels would be a great help.

I had the sonogram on a friday and the blood tests as well.  She said it looked like I just ovulated so maybe the day before.  I didn't know if my LH levels would still be High if I had ovulated the day before or if there is no link between them.  As far as my ovaries go they said I had multiple follicles but didn't say she saw cysts.  The follicles are just competing with each other so one doesn't mature.  I just don't want to jump on a fertility med so quick.  Also since I got off my BC I stopped working out as much and probably gained 10lbs in the last 6 months.  I don't know if this may be a cause as well.

Well the luteinizing hormone (LH) usually spikes/increases right before ovulation (24-48 hours before if I am correct). I guess it is just really tricky because it would depend on when the sonogram was and when the blood test was taken. So it could be that you are about to ovulate or really JUST ovulated. Do you know what I mean?

As far as FSH levels go I'm unsure.

Did they see polycystic ovaries? I have PCOS so I understand a bit about the condition. Hormonal imbalance can definitely cause it.
