Ohh you are so close to having this baby!! good luck!!!
Thanks ladies! I know how to safely check for dialation (when I can reach! That darn cervix is WAY back normally) and I am now closer to a 2 1/2 and might be able to be stretched to a 3...... YAY! lol. I know this because I check 1x a day (gloves, sterile lube) ... Off to the parade!
doctors broke my waters for me when i was in labour with my first and with my second the waters broke as the babies head was delivered this worried me when they said what was goin to happen but i trusted them and all was and is fine
First pregnancy it didn't...had a c-section
Second I think i was about 1- 1/2 it broke while i was walking through the hospital
Third it broke when i was about 1. That's what woke me up and started my labor
Fourth I was well into labor and about 5 1/2 cm. Water broke he was born an hour later ( had my membranes stripped 4 days before with this one)
Fifth. I was induced...at about 7 cm my water broke on it's own.
I was 7 cm when mine broke and had already been in labor for about nine hours.
I was induced 8 days earlier (due to PUPP, an uncommon skin condition which occurs during pregnancy) but my daughter had already engaged 2 weeks earlier. My water broke about 10.5 hours following intake of the first inducing tablets Cytotec, which lead you to have a very rapid labour. My waters broke at 1045 pm and I was NOT dilated but my midwife was checking me and she said that my cervix was opening really quickly. Cytotec results in a rapid labour (and very intense and painful) and my daughter was born the following morning at 3:06 am.
I think i was about 4cm when my water broke. But who knows your water might not break at all.
Cindie, I have to say I would have preferred to have the doctors break mine with Taylor. It was a very uncomfortable experiance for me. Trying to get stuff done while trying to hold a few towels in between my legs, ugh! I mean its uncomfortable enough once the contractions start why add this to it right, lol:-) I think my labor would have been a little faster had my waters not broke on their own. 1) I wouldnt have went to the hospital that soon. 2) I would ave been more comfortable walking aroundfor things to move along better.
Either way I hope your labor and delivery is short and sweet:-)
Thanks ladies, I have a friend telling me "dont be suprised if your water breaks". lol, I'll just be happy when this is all done and over with and I have a squirmy little baby boy to hold (cause my squirmy little toddler doesn't want mama much anymore!) lol
I was at 6cm with DS, but they broke my water at the hospital...
I was 2 cm. I had a doctors appointment a few days before and the doctor did a cervix sweep. She was hesatent to do it becuse she said my bag was bulging at that point. Afterwards she said I was 3 cm almost 4. Well my water broke at almost 38 weeks and when I got to the hospital to be checked they said I was only 2cm. I dont get it. I regressed, lol:) My water never broke with any of my 3 boys, just our last baby gil.
My water broke when I was 3 cm dialter ... 3 weeks before my due date.
I have had 3 babies my first one they would'nt break my water for some reason, so It did'nt until it was time to push full dilated. with baby number 2 i was dilated to a 7 and my water had'nt broken yet so the broke it. and with baby number 3 I was induced through them breaking my water (I was 3 CM for 3 weeks). Good luck
Im not going to be much help because they broke mine at the hospital during a pitocin induction but they broke mine at 1.5 cm!
Mine was 2cm at my last appointment, my water broke at home a few days later and when I got to the hospital I was only 3cm. I don't think that's normal though. I think it typically breaks around 5cm.
The reason mine probably broke was because she swept my membranes and it created a huge, bulgy bag of water that she thought would break on its own. HTH!
Yeah my doctor broke my water at 2.5cm, and apparently he had to wrestle with it to get it to break so it probably never would have spontaneously broken.
well when my water broke, the nurse checked me and she that I was still one cm. But everyone else thought I was more because I kept having them back to back. I had no rest in between. So I think the first nurse that checked me was wrong, lol.
I was 3cm when I went in for an induction and still my water never broke until the doc decided to do it to move things along. Majority of women the water does not break even with a lot of dialation.
I can't be of much help here. My water never broke, doc had to do it, though when I went into the hospital with first DS, I was already 6cm dilated.
