Thanx ladies, I will give it a shot.
I too took Mucinex in November and just got my BFP yesterday and today. With my 2 year old, same thing. My doctor told me that with both of her pregnancies, she was sick and taking Robitussin and that's when she got pregnant. Anyway, I intentionally took it with my 2 year old and got pregnant the first month I tried. But this time, I was genuinely sick and had horrible post-nasal drip with crazy thick mucus, so that's why I took it. And dontcha know...it did it again. So, certainly anything with Guafenisen works. But make sure that you take just plain guafenisen, like just plain mucinex, not the DM kind. That has dextromethorphan, which is a cough suppressant. That is not good at all to take if you're not sick. And if you take too much, it can make you feel awful. Keep in mind that guafenisen THINS out your mucus in your body - all of it. It does not increase your CM. But a common problem that women have is that there O CM, or fertile CM, is too thick and the sperm can't fight their way through it. It's like swimming against a strong current. So, if you have CM and it's already thin, mucinex or guafenisen won't really help. And whatever you do, AVOID antihistamines. Don't take any benadryl or sudafed or anything like that. That will dry you up even more. Certainly increasing your water intake will help. Drink water until you can't stand to drink it anymore. And then when you can stand it no longer, add some crystal light mix to it and drink some more. :-) Good luck to ya! Baby dust!
I took over the counter generic mucinex with only active ingredient guafenesin in Oct. and got my BFP in Nov. So, I can't say it helped but who knows. I did notice more CM throughout my cycle and not really being dry like I'm used to. LOL I hope this helps. I have heard people talk about pre-seed and EPO too. Doesn't hurt to try stuff.
Good luck... SSBD
