If you took a test in the beginning of August and it was positive then you might have been somewhere between 2-3 weeks. It is now 20 sept, a long way from that positive test. You would be much further along now as far as 8-10 weeks, have you not gone to the Dr? If you have taken a positive test then you need to be following up with your Dr. and you should be taking Pre-natals and by now the Dr. would typically have given you an U/S to tell you how far along you are.
You dont get pregnant while having a M/C. What can happen is that sperm can live inside of you for up to 7 days. And if in those 7 days you ovulate then yes you can get pregnant. It really depends on the length of your cycle.

When I said I didnt know you can while bleeding I meant I didnt know you can get pregnant while you were having a miscarriage. It was with my ex i never got a new boyfriend. Out of curiosity how far along do you think i might be? when i was having a miscarriage i started bleeding july 3 and i stopped bleeding on the 12 but on the 9th i went to the hospital because i wasnt sure if i was having a miscarriage or not and they said i had a complete miscarriage so how pregnant might i be now?

Bleeding during pregnancy is not that rare, so it's possible that you are pregnant again. Just make sure to see your doctor to find out what is going on. Are you back with your ex? Or are you a new boyfriend?

You might be pregnant again, as many women can get pregnant again very quickly after a miscarriage. Make an appointment to see your doctor to have your HCG levels checked. Are you trying to get pregnant?

The doctors told me it was a m/c july 9th. I took a test in july a few days after the m/c and it was negative. Then in august i think the 1st week i took a test and it was positive So i went to the clinc between the 7 and 13 and they said my test was positive

You probably are not pregnant.  It takes a while for the HCG to leave your system completely.  You should be evaluated by a doctor to make sure that you had a complete miscarriage and that there wasn't any tissue left behind.  I am very sorry for your loss.

How far apart were the M/C and the positive pregnancy test?
It is possible to get pregnant fairly soon after a M/C just depending on how quickly your body ovulates. But it is also not uncommon to take a pregnancy test after having a M/C and getting a positive because it can take some time for the HCG to get out of your system. If we are talking weeks you might be pregnant again, if we are talking days then it could be a false positve.
If you got a positive at the clinic what happened after this? I am assuming they didn't send you along your way? did they have you take a blood test?
Just need some more information to be more accurate on answering your question.
