Ok, Well I had tried Xenical (that stuff S*CKS) and didn't lose a pound (I was using it like I should AND excercising)
I know it's not a weight loss pill... but it would be a perk.. and sometimes doctors write Off Label perscriptions.
Well it's not a weight loss pill. My main purpose for taking it would be to correct the high testosterone that I have and the weight loss is just a perk! You'd have to ask your doc for a prescript.
JoyRenee- Can women with NO PCOS take it and lose weight?
I ask because with the total of 60lbs from B/C I gained (I managed to lose 20).. I started out at 177 when I shouldve been around 150. And believe me, When I've worked out, I don't lose an ounce of body fat and gain a few lbs from muscle (at the gym they check your body fat percentage... in 3-4mo of working out 4-5X a week for 1-2hrs a night... I never lost a percent)
I'd love something that could help me jump start some real weight loss after this baby. I'm gonna need the energy!
leighanne, women with PCOS who take Glucophage/Metformin lose weight rapidly. Because they're not actually diabetic. Metformin is a drug used for many different things, not just diabetes. Women with PCOS have insulin resistance. Our ovaries produce insulin and that's what I'm talking about.
Anyway, some doctors say you won't/don't lose weight with it but I've been visiting the Soul Cysters forum and every single PCOS woman on that board that has used this medication lost a ton of weigh. Some lost 20 lbs in the first two weeks. I think it might have to do with the fact that it can make you have diarrhea for weeks.
I completely know how you feel about putting it on a back burner...Here lately when DH and I BD it hasn't been on my mind until after we're done. I have tried to quit and sometimes my mind is elsewhere sometimes it's not. Good Luck and to your question I have absolutely no clue. Sorry I wish I could be as to some help.
MeowMix01- We've all been in your place...not knowing what it means...but I'll fill ya in. Hope it helps....only unsure of one...I've never heard it

DS- Dear Son
DD- Dear Daughter
:) awww I wish you the bestest of luck! hearing how everyone seems to have trouble getting preggy its kinda discouraging me :( see i was hoping for this month lol and I haven't really noticed any symptoms other than the whole "implantation bleeding" or so I hope thats what it was. :) anyway I dont mean to get off topic but since I'm new here I was wondering if anyone can tell me what the following means: BFN,BFP,DH,DF, and last but not least AF. Now i'm not an idiot lol I have figured out what those words sorta mean as a whole but what do they actually stand for? :)
P.S. Seeing as everyone has pictures up of their lovely families and such I will post some soon as I get my husband to go find the cord to hook into the computer from our digital camera :/ lol he's asleep right now so I'll wait till tomorrow to bug him :)
the doctor said glucophage helps with weight loss? i need me some then. i would not think so since many diabetics takes it and many of them heavy to begin with and they do not lose weight.
how does the glucophage help joy? i am very interested now.
don;t worry i have 50lbs to lose and don;t even have a child to say that i was pregnant and gained weight. i just gained the 50lb from being with my DF for the past 7 years and honestly just letting go. i have to get it back together soon:)
i love jump roping lol oh my gosh you should totally do it
umm its probably a little of both, do you have a heart rate monitor? keeping yourself at a certain heart rate can make the cardio effective. i doubt you have a problem with that though pushing 50lbs up hills! i know they keep it up with those tae bo sessions, but i was thinking more weight lifting can really help tone up, and you can always change your weights when you are ready also.
msgorgeous, I do those "side crunches" as I call them!!! But I just started doing those the other day. Sucking your stomach into your spine is actually way more effective than crunches and I stopped doing the crunches more than a few days ago. I just wasn't seeing result with them.
I bought a jump rope! I should do that one, too!
I definitely get cardio in! I live in a very hilly neighborhood and I take my kiddos on walks. So not only am I walking but I'm pushing a double stroller of over 50 lbs. But the toning I probably need to work on... I really like Billy Blanks Tae Bo, does that count? Or is that cardio?
i know all kinds of good excersises lol i use to work out every day i was in the army,,,normal crunches dont really do much try lifting one leg at a 90 degree angle up then with the opposite arm lean up like a crunch but make your elbow touch your knee example if your left leg is up then reach your right elbow to your knee then switch then you could do both your knees at a 90 degree angle then touch both elbows to your knees....try that and you will have discovered many new muscles... try jumping jacks thats fun for me lol cardio is a good way to lose weight.
lol 50 lbs, you can lose that girl! and for some reason, the more you have to lose, the easier it seems to come off! ive been battling this stubborn 10lbs the last couple of weeks, its always those last little annoyances that are the hardest, but i mean for the most part you dont worry about that after the majority of weight comes off. try doing 30 mins of cardio 6 days a week, you dont have to even run, but you can walk on a treadmill at an incline instead. and do your workouts 3 days a week to tone your muscles. try doing one full body workout (arms legs tummy back) then just in groups the other two times, focusing on your tummy if thats the biggest problem. OH and try looking up new techniques every once in a while or your muscles become used to it and it doesnt work anymore.
Phew! Thanks for the encouragement about the weight issue. I need to lose 50 lbs!!! That's how much I've gained and not been able to lose since my first daughter was born (almost 3 years ago). I keep seeing the scale going up and not down. My muscles do not hurt, even after really strenuous exercise.
I was just telling DH today that I must have some stinking good muscles becuase I don't feel a thing! I can do hundreds of crunches and not feel it the next day. So that's good, but I still have a jelly belly!
i think im going to give it a rest for a while too after this month if BFN. too stressful around AF time! (its always in the back of my mind) so i mean im not really that upset about it either. itll happen eventually! oh yeah you really do gain weight when you are getting muscle mass and after you get that established you should be able to start seeing changes as soon as 6 weeks, small at first but noticeable to you, and even more if you keep with it! and try not to stress too much that can mess with your weight too. you will start feeling so much better soon!
Dont feel bad about the weight thing..Im going to let you in on a little secret:) Shhhh dont tell anyone , lol. But when my hubby and I were TTC I put on over 25lbs!! It took us over a year and a half to get pregnant and everymonth I would gain a few and think to myself that it was ok cause I was going to get a BFP anyways so it didnt matter! After a year of trying I realized just how fat I had gotten!! Im only 5'1 so the extra weight really showed!! I am 22 weeks today and since my last doctors appointment only gained a lb!
1st appointment I gained one and 2nd appointment I gained 2 and my last appointment I had lost 2!
Maybe you just wont gain as much during your next pregnancy:) I know with my first 2 babys I gained 15lbs in the first trimester alone!!
I just might need to try those little miricle pills after this little one is born...I would love to fit back into my size 00! But hey im realistic I would go for a size 4, lol!
joy joy you know when you start working out you gain some weight for like mucsles and from toning etc. dont let it discourage you from working out your beautiful it will take time to get the results you want but i know you can do it :)
well i want to wish you the best of luck on your ttc journey as i dont have an answer to your medical question but keep your head up it will happen just not as soon as you would like,
Thank you! And thank you for the kind note you sent me!!! I love getting those. They always make me smile!
Well the Metformin would help me lose weight. I gained 60 lbs between both pregnancies and I've lost TEN lbs so far (a year after youngest daughter's birth). I have been working out hard for the past 2 weeks only to GAIN a few pounds. I'm just at the end of my rope and upset about my life right now. Nothing too upsetting, just monotonous and I'm always tired. I'm only 23 and I feel like I'm 58 or something.
Im sorry I have no clue about your medical question:( I just wanted to let you know that im praying for you this month!! And if it dosent happen and you take a break maybe thats all you will need to concieve! Good luck Joy!
