I agree with u all. But sometimes its because some women have high blood pressure; duabities, and many other medical reasons. I agree with beeing induced if there is a medical reason for it. I had a friend who had to be induced because she had a pulmonary embolysim and started coughing blood. As for me I have a weak cervix so at 36 weeks they will take off my stitch from my cervix because the baby is going to be to heavy and it will rip my cervix and uterus if the stitch is not removed so more than likely I will have a premie God willing I won't but that's what I am looking at.

I was induced with all 3 of my kids. My first was a decision i made so i wouldn't miss work and lose my apartment. I was the only one working and didnt make that much as it was. All im saying is u never no ones reasons to do or make a decision whether u like it or not its not ur choice and u should make people feel like there a bad person cause u dont agree with what the decided.
I was induced with my first the day after she was due, but I had also been in labor for 3 days and was not able to sleep.
Oh no I didn't take your question as being judgmental just a lot of the responses were
My original question was in no way intending to be judgemental. I legitimately thought full term was 40 weeks. and I just wanted an understanding why drs do inductions early, if there's no medical reason or any factors besides just sick of being pregnant. as most of the people I know, that's why they were induced.
Like I said this is my first pregnancy so I don't know much. I was just trying to get a better understanding.
Right but it can go all different ways. A Dr can say, yes I agree with you we will induce cause your MIL is about to.pass away and your pregnancy is going fine. Or no its going bad we gotta get baby out ASAP. Or no you're pregnancy is going fine we will not induce. What sapphire was saying is there's too many JUDGMENTAL comments not just OPINIONS
I also live an hour + away from our hospitla and its a costal road which alot of tourist travell at snails pace so we have that worry as well, we usually just leave when either my water break or contraction get into a regular pattern :)
I was induced with my first 3 days before my original due date. But I had a lot of factors. I live an hour + away from the hospital and was at home alone with no car all day. So I was kinda scared to go into natural labor at home. I thought about inducing with this one. But with my first my doctor asked me after they did an ultrasound earlier at the appointment to check babies position and I was dilated 3 cm at the same appointment. So she asked if I wanted to wait or if I wanted to be induced. So they scheduled me for that Monday. This was at my 38wk appointment. But I feel she wouldn't have given me that choice if baby wasn't ready. I don't know anyone personally who has been induced earlier then like a week before. But I have herd of it. And unless it is medically needed I personally wouldn't induce that early. But like I said I live an hour +away from the hospital so I feel more comfortable with being induced. I do want to try going into labor natural though just scared I wont get there in time.
like I said, everyone has their own opinions and we should be able to post how we feel about the question, which was how ladies can be induced before 40wk if they have a healthy pregnancy ie NO complications to warrant an induction :)
She simply said it doesn't make people bad if they choose to do this. Never said anything about the induction itself except no one knows why others choose to do it. There were a lot of judgmental posts on here I agree with her. I think if the mother has asked to be induced early as long as pregnancy is OK and its no unreasonable then its OK. I think if a Dr is doing it just because then its not OK. Because a Drs only reason to do that should be for medical reasons, if the Dr is going outta town s/he should leave it up to the mother to choose what to do at that point.
so its ok for you to put your opinions down, but not for another to say that they dont agree with it ?
Most of u dont know y people choose to get induced just cause its not medically necessary doesnt mean u can judge any one. It doesn't make that person a bad person just cause thats what they wanted to do. If u dont like it mind ur own business and move on. Its not ur choice so get over it.
All the doctors that I've seen said that full term is 37 weeks. *shrugs* they went to all kinds of school for it, so I don't really question them.
No ones judging lol, and I actually know a lot of people who got induced 37-40 weeks for no medical reason and everything was healthy. it was more for convienience as other people said.
I also understand moms have no choice but to have c-sections before 40 weeks. I'm not saying anything about that. bcos that's different.
This is my first child , so I don't know much. I'm just going by what I've heard and seen
I was induced with my son at 39w2d with my son because I had gone into labor 4 days before that and after 4 days i wouldn't progress and it finally got to the point it was dangerous for me to wait it out any longer
Well that's not true, some Drs will induce at 38 weeks for conveince reasons, while I don't agree with it I know people who have had it done because they're Dr was gonna be outta town, they husband was about to be deployed and so forth. Its just a case by case thing.
I think women may complain and want an early delivery in their moment of weakness, but they do not get it. We all want the best for our babies.
I think its funny that people judge so easily. No doctor induces before 39 weeks unless there is a very valid reason. And if a mom HAS to have a C-section, they cant wait until they are 40 weeks. You risk going into labor. I will have to have an early Csection to make sure I dont go into labor and put more trauma on my baby boy.
Wow a lot of disagreement to this here. My doctor does the inducement thing, but never more than four days early at the most. (I just talked to him about this last week) I'm actually opting for this with my boy, because with my first pregnancy I had to be induced due to how late my daughter was and the fact that its not only convenient for him, but for us as well. It guarantees that my doctor will be the one taking care of me instead of someone I have not grown to trust, and as I have another kid, it makes things easier for me to schedule. Both of my parents work, and she's planning to stay with them so daddy can be in the hospital with me. This way I can give them time to schedule time off since their jobs do not do the spur of the moment thing. Same for my husbands job. Of course no date will be scheduled until the week before since we can't assume that my body will be ready for it, which is fine by me but I like the option being there. Also, inducement does not make things harder. With my first I delivered in two or three hours within my inducement with zero problems and was walking five minutes later. I literally have no labor horror stories so far unlike everyone else I seem to hear them from. It just all matters on the pregnancy I guess. So long as its not mega early, I see no issues with it.

And actually yes 40 weeks is 10 months BECAUSE most Drs and whatnot count 4 weeks as a month since majority of months have only 4 weeks. Lol
This app and my Dr say that 37 weeks it technically full term. Your 9 months at 36 weeks. So THAT I don't get BUT I trust my Dr he is one of the top five in North Texas. Now he's never delivered babes before 38 weeks for no reason either though.
I don't think it's right , to induce bcos your tired of being pregnant. I mean, I know some women are extremely uncomfortable and are in pain.. but hey you knew what would happen! lol idkthats just my opinion.
& c-sections too , booked soo early ! idk I just don't get it. I know there's always a chance of something to be wrong .. but the isn't the chance lower if you wait the full 40 weeks
