Is everything ok??

I had my first U/S this morning and i was really disappointed me and my husband saw nothing but a sac and black dot centering the sac, the Dr said that this is ok that it must be too early to see anything, i'm worried i've worked out im about 5weeks, and being my first pregnancy i'm obviously nervous and concerned. I've started elevit and have symptoms such as nausea, intergestion and regular hunger spells. Me and my partner are hoping and praying that everything is fine, is there anyone out there with a simular experience that turned out alright??

:) hopeful mum!

you should only see a black dot/gestational sac at 5 weeks.  you will see a fetal pole and heartbeat between 6-7 weeks.  don't stress it seems like all is well.  many doctors do not do ultrasounds at only 5 weeks, do you know why he did one?

i agree, dont worry at all when i went for my first scan they said i was 8 weeks and i only saw a blob and there wasnt even a heart beat but then i went back a week later and there it was still a blob but a bit bigger and a heart beat so dont worry we all feel like that when finding out, its my first too and im forever on the internet making sure all my aches and pains are normal, im 22 weeks and 3 days now and i still look everything up, its like an obsesion but very exiting! good luck and im sure its fine x

At five weeks you usually cant see anything other than a sac. I got an ultrasound at 5w3d and only saw a sac. I got another ultrasound at 5w6d and also only saw a sac. Then I got an ultrasound at 6w1d and we saw a sac, a dot, and a heartbeat. Even a day can make a HUGH difference. Don't be discouraged now it is just too early. :)
