Is this normal?

Hello!

I'm a little over 34 weeks pregnant.  Lately I've been feeling light headed.  I went into the hospital a couple weeks ago(dr. order) and they ran some tests and couldn't figure out why.  Blood work came back normal, they were thinking a possible sinus infection, yet I felt fine on that front.   Anyway, this morning, I woke up completely wiped out.  My veins hurt (I have varicose and spider veins in my right leg - half way up my shin up to my vaginal lip - sorry if it's TMI), my hip hurts (has been for a couple days now), I'm really light headed again, very groggy, and I've had several charlie horses thru out the night.    This is my third pregnancy, and I don't remember feeling like this at all during any of it.  I've been trying to follow dr. orders with eating smaller, more frequent meals, having more PB in my diet (and eggs).
Has anyone else felt like this during their pregnancy?  It's definetly taking a toll on me.

Well you're still uncomfortable. She should at least check to make sure to ease your comfort and in the event that there is a blood clot deep in your leg(s).

A lot of women get lightheaded and "charlie horses" when they're not getting enough fluids. So definitely cut out the caffeinated drinks, if you drink them, and chug water all day.

She hasn't, though I've brought up the topic.  It was something I worried about.   In my last pregnancy, she named the vein that was affected, and said it was the same vein that run up to my vaginal lip - which is also affected (not comfy at ALL).   Anyway, she said that I don't have to worry about a blod clot - cuz the vein affected is a "superficial" vein and that i would typically have to worry about the deeper veins.   She told me what to look out for tho.

Has your doctor checked to make sure you don't have a blood clot in your legs?

These signs seem to be pretty consistent with your third trimester.  When you lay down prop up a couple pillows so that way you are not laying flat.  The pain in your legs is normal.  I havd a son whose pregnancy I barely remember, it was 7 yrs. ago, and waht I can remember is the pain that would be so opainful it would stop me from being able to walk or move.  It was the sciatic nerve, and my son putting pressure on it.  And as for the dizziness, it may just possibly just be orthostatic hypotension, which ultimately means, when u stand up allow your legs to dangle on the side of the bed for about 2 minutes before standing, it will increase blood flow to yoour legs.  And do not stand up too quickly, take your time and it should decrease form there.   Hope this helps!!

It is very common to be light headed in late pregnancy, there is so much blood flowing to your uterus that the rest of your body isn't getting as much. As long as your blood work comes back normal and your BP is good, it's no reason to worry. I get light headed several times a day. Everything else sounds normal as well!

Make sure you are staying VERY hydrated and eating enough, being dehydrated can contribute to being light headed as well.
