Itchy skin... but no rash?

This is just a quick question to see if anyone else has experienced a problem like this during their pregnancy.

I noticed yesterday evening that my upper back was itching quite a bit... by the time I went to bed my feet, hands, calves, and hips were also itching pretty badly.  It actually kept me up for a while.  There is absolutely no rash or redness that would indicate an allergic reaction (plus I haven't used any new detergents or soaps recently).  It didn't seem to bother me as much today during the day, but shortly after I got home from work, it started up again (mainly on my back, feet and hands).  It's the strangest thing... my belly has itched on and off for the past few months, but I know that's from the skin stretching.  I'm thinking it might just be another fun-filled side effect of being pregnant, but I was curious whether anyone else had every experienced it.

I experienced itching all through my pg with dd, it was always worse at night, especially bed time.  For mr it was just another pg related symptom.  I used to drive my dh crazy at night.

Luckily I happen to have an appointment tomorrow (for the usual bi-weekly check-up stuff)... so I'm hoping they can shed some light on the problem (or at least tell me not to worry about it).

Itcy skin is pretty common during pregnancy but can be a symptom of something a little more serious (for instance, it can be related to a problem w/ the liver during pregnancy).  Make sure you mention this to your doctor at your next appointment and if it gets too bothersome before then, give your doctor a call.
