Just seeking some feedback-Lost Baby

First pregnancy great! Fullterm baby boy, not one complication and a vaginal delivery-Just to note!

At 10weeks with my 2nd pregnancy I was at my office bathroom and had seen so much fresh red blood I would have though I got my period. I immediately called my doctors office and they told me to come in for an ultrasound. My office manager/friend was kind enough to accompany me and take me there. Upon arriving at the doctor’s office by that time I had been discharging bloody water. Doctors and 2 midwives were uncertain as to what was going on.
During my sonogram the technician discovered a large clot, although at the time they used the term mass because there was uncertainty there. I later that evening was sent to a local hospital to see a specialist in high risk pregnancies. My mother met my husband and I there to learn what was going on. Question was, will my baby be okay, and am I in danger and what the hell is going on?
Ahhh, peace of mind; the specialist confirmed that there were definitely 2 fairly large blood clots within my uterus and that it was an entirely separate issue from pregnancy. In fact I was told, along with my company, that I should think of the baby as being in its own little world completely untouched from the issue.
So, now what right- what to expect? She then explained that I will continue to bleed as she expects the clots will continue to hollow out. It was then explained that it may even be a possibility that I could pass one or even both clots. No problem, bleeding would stop and they would just continue to monitor me through out the rest of my pregnancy.
I was continuously checked by my midwife and this specialist. Again, great heartbeat, baby’s growth right on schedule- in fact a week ahead (this was true for my son as well), I was always reassured that everything looked great!
So on the 1st of December 08, I passed a golf ball sized clot at work, went to the doctor, sonogram and guess what everything looked great, one of the clots were gone. Baby was looking good!
Last scheduled appointment with my high risk specialist was the following week, exactly. This time I learn I am carrying a little girl, clot issue resolved. However, my fluid levels were low enough to be scheduled a week later for an anatomy scan to be sure that the baby was developing right in this low fluid. Well guess what I never made it to that appointment. Later that night I woke up wet, learning in the hospital that I had lost any fluid I was still holding. I lost my daughter at 16weeks on December 11th of 2008 because I had absolutely NO fluid left.
So why or how was my fluid levels overlooked, why all along was I told everything was great? I have a lot of unanswered questions and a lot of anger. If there is anything you would like to respond I am very open minded and would appreciate any feedback I could get.

Missing her like crazy!

My mother had that happend with a brother of mine, she bled for a month or 2 with hemoraging (i had that this pregnancy) Alot of woman get them. And then oneday she woke up to her water breaking at 18 weeks. Hers was a gush but some woman its a trickle. The baby most likely kicked the bag and put a rip in it. My live brother anthony kicked his open when she was 25 weeks but thank god he made it. Its a fluke of nature unfortuantly. Im sorry you had to go through this. I couldnt even imagine goign through all that time. I know your mad but the docs wouldnt have known, the baby was healthy and active.

I am very sorry to hear about your lost. I also lost at almost 16 weeks. I had the same thing happen to me. I had bleeding through out the whole pregnancy but it was brown blood (Old Blood) they had old me that everything looked ok and for me not to worry. I continued to bleed with no reason and then almost at 15 weeks I started to get a really watery discharge. Of course I panicked and went into my doctor. All they did for me was check the heart beat (they should have done an ultra sound and a strip test to check if it was the fluids). They thought I was “over worrying” Well low and behold several days later I started getting cramping early in the morning. By about 3:30pm I was really scared because it was constant and getting worse. I ended up going into ER and when they did and ultra sound they noticed that there was absolutely no fluids at all and the baby had no heart beat. They said that it is a possibility that I could have a Incompetent Cervix
Definition:
:   During pregnancy, as the baby grows and gets heavier, it presses on the cervix. This pressure may cause the cervix to start to open before the baby is ready to be born. This condition is called incompetent cervix or weakened cervix, and it may lead to a miscarriage or premature delivery. However, an incompetent cervix happens in only about 1 out of 100 pregnancies.
The treatment for an incompetent or weakened cervix is a procedure that sews the cervix closed to reinforce the weak cervix. This procedure is called a cerclage and is usually performed between week 14-16 of pregnancy. These sutures will be removed between 36-38 weeks to prevent any problems when you go into labor. Removal of the cerclage does not result in spontaneous delivery of the baby

When you lose your fluids during pregnancy they call it PROM premature rupture of membranes.

Other causes could be.
Premature separation of the placenta (placental abruption). - occurs when the placenta that is implanted normally inside the uterus separates prematurely from the wall of the uterus, during the third trimester of pregnancy.

Infections of the uterus- Maternal infection is probably the most common risk of PROM. Ironically, this complication is the one most likely to be caused by the doctor and hospital environment.
At all gestational ages, patients who have had only a sterile speculum exam have an average of 11.3 days of latency; whereas those who have had digital vaginal exams only last 2.1 days before labor starts . Obviously, the risk to the premature fetus is lessened with each day it can remain in the womb, making digital exams a definite risk to the baby.

I wish you the best of luck and hope that I may have helped a little.

Seriously....your post almost made me cry! I am so so so so sorry for your loss. Losing a child is so hard. I had a m/c, but mine was very early on. My only guess can be that in that week time your fluid level dropped drastically without you knowing...and I am sure you woudl have known if you were leaking fluid....
I know everyone says that everythinng happens for a reason..and that doesnt help ease the pain..but just know that you now have an angel watching over you.....

Hang in there hun! And again, i am truly sorry for  your loss!
