Labor contractions?

For those who have had babies, what does it feel like? I feel like I might be in labor because I start getting a crampy feeling that gradually gets worse in what seems like intervals of 4 minutes that lasts for a minute and makes my stomach really hard. I dont want to be wrong though

I only had back labor so my tummy would harden and I'd get a sharp pain (almost like a back spasm) around my sides, my back and then later into my labor the pain would go down into my hips and thighs! It didn't start out that bad though so you could possibly be in early labor!

Thanks ladies. I figure I'll wait and see if they get any stronger. At the moment they are intense but I'm still able to walk and talk, I just have to breathe through them. My mom advised me to wait until they are 2 minutes apart

It makes your torso all tight & sometimes pain in your back. Feels like lots of pressure. When I was in labor with last one, they said wait until the pain was bad enough that you can't move or talk through the contraction to go in

Contractions get really painful and your tummy will tighten up every time you get a contraction. Call your doctor
