Ohh okay.. well the good thing is there are babies born full term that weigh 5 pounds and you're baby is almost 6!!! .. so even though the baby might be on the smaller side she won't be extremely tiny.. and that's good!! Everything will work out just fine. Try not to worry too much. I know a girl that had a 4 pound baby and she is doing well now.
My uterus from top to bottom is 34 cm. I thought the length of your uterus is supposed to measure the same weeks of gestation you are. Not positive tho. As of last weeks ultrasound at 37 weeks she was 5lbs 15oz
How many weeks is you're baby measuring? Not sure what you mean by 34 cm..?
Ah that makes me feel better. Before my regular doctor went on maternity leave I never thought that there was a problem, ever since then I've been doctor hopping and it seems like everyone else thinks there's something wrong. I'm curious to see what they say tomorrow. I wonder what the likelihood of me being induced early is.
I see a maternal fetal doctor for my entire pregnancy. They are actually very good.. you will go in and they will first do an ultrasound.. they might do an internal first to check the cervix and then they will do it on you're tummy and check you're baby and measure the baby etc.. after the ultrasound you will meet with the doctor And you two will go over you're ultrasound any problems and concerns.. he will let you know you're options and what they need to do.. don't worry mama they are highly qualified and I think you will feel better after seeing them. Best of luck
Thanks ladies, I guess we'll see tomorrow
They will do an ultrasound maternal fetal medicine is usually just an ultra sound tech trained to spot problems and what not. Don't worry it's fun kind of get to see baby
Wish i knew to be able to help, sorry!
I figured it was like a specialist. I'm just curious about what they do durning the assessment. I've been to ultrasound every visit for the past month, and get checked for dilation every visit too. What else is there?!
Maternal fetal medicine is a more precise specialty than ob/gyn, while ob/gyn doctors are qualified to handle a broad spectrum of gynecologic and obstetric conditions, a maternal fetal medicine is more specially trained to care for patients with more complicated conditions. To ease your mind my daughter measured small my whole pregnancy and labeled to have inutero growth restriction, but was born at 37 weeks a healthy 6lbs11oz. It's good that your doctor is sending you to a specialist though, he/she is really looking out for the best care of baby and you :)
Never had this kind of problem, but I will bump for you, hopefully someone can help!
No body knows? This *****!
