Maternity Leave

I am now at 33 weeks and 2 days. My doc hasn't told me when I should take my maternity leave. I work at a convenience store where I am either standing or sitting at least 8 or 9 hours a day. My expected due date is September 14th and my next doctors appointment is August 5th. When should I take my maternity leave?

I'm 36 weeks now, due September 1st and starting my maternity leave at almost 39 weeks. I work as a waitress and I'm on my feet all day, but it's not bothering me too much yet. The longer i stay working the more money i save and the more time i get to spend with my boy after i have him! :) good luck!

Work as long as you can! It will give you more time with baby before you have to go back to work. With my first, I was a server and worked right up until the day before.  It helped the time pass and I was so glad I got to spend my entire maternity leave with him. One of the hardest things in the world is going back to work after maternity leave!

I would try and stay as long as you physically can because it's more time you get to spend with your little one.

Most workplaces allow it at 35-36 weeks any earlier you have to have a reason like high risk pregnancy or something like that.

When your like 38 or 39 weeks should be fine. They type of job you have don't really require much . So save up as much money as you can. Than you can spend more time with the baby
