I haven't taken melatonin while pregnant, but you can take unisom (diphenhydramine is the active ingredient and it is safe), tylenol pm, or benadryl for insomnia. I took unisom with my zofran because it was the only combination that worked for my hyperemesis, and it helped me sleep.
Thank you for your imput. I know some doctors say not to take it, and some doctors say its okay, and to just keep the dose under 3mg.. I'm curious if there is anyone on here that has taken melatonin during pregnancy and if so did it help?
I took melatonin every night for years before becoming pregnant. It helps. However, when I started trying to conceive, my doctor told me to stop then, because I shouldn't take it during pregnancy. You can take Benedryl, which helps me.
