Membrane sweep

What are your experiences with membrane sweeps? How successful are they and how long does it take to work?

I had seven..then three methods of induction before my contractions started. I'll never be induced again! My baby really wasn't ready to come yet..she even has an infection after she was born :(

My daughter was born within 24hrs of mine being done, but I was 40+3 when it was perforned. It may not work as you are quite early for it, but maybe your body is ready. I found out yesterday that they no longer do it here until 41wks...guess I've probably at least another 3wks left instead of 2 :(

It worked for me with my son. I was 3cm and had it done around 12 and by 5:45 that evening my water broke and I was 5cm and admitted :) had my son the following morning

I had one done with my second at 41w4d, 10am. Went into labour 14 hours later!

My sister in law had one and it didnt do anything for her

I had one with my first pregnancy, it was done at about 3:00pm and i was 1cm dialated, 0% efacaed. When i arrived for my induction later that same night at 11:45 i was at 3cm. However it could have been the sweep or just coincidence

I had one done today but nothing so far!

Thanks! Tomorrow is my 38 week check up and my doc is gonna do a sweep! And if that doesn't do anything for me I'm gonna be induced next Thursday! I just hope it works cause I know induced contractions hurt worse than normal!

I had no luck with it when i was preggo with my second, but I am hopin it will do some good with this pregnancy, everyone is different though. My mom had it done with my lil brother and her water broke a couple hrs later, and i have heard some other good stories with it as well. hope all goes well if U do have it done, good luck!
