I've been having period like cramps as well this past week..

I am 22w4d. The cramps are localized and only include small parts of my uterus at different times. I know they aren't conractions...I see my mfm specialist on fri so I'm gonna ask him.

The cramps I'm getting only last for a few seconds then disappear.. I still feel my son moving and kicking so I know he's ok...

Hey hun I have been having exactly what your describing.  I am 36 weeks and since about 2 weeks ago, I have been having major menstral like cramps, like I could start my period any minute, I had them on a Sunday all day, then all day the following Wednesday then all day Saturday, and then all day the tuesday after that  and all day Yesterday, so they come and go on different days but when i have them on days they last all day.  its my first prenancy so i was scared, i ended up going to Labor and delievery The first Sunday and last night cause they were so bad. plus last night i had major back problems.  The first time they told me it was Braxton hicks, and then they said its my body preparing for delievery.  Then they tried telling me i had a bladder infection, which i am not stupid, i grew up having constant bladder infections, i knew i idnt have one then.  then last night they told me that its just the discomforts of being so close to the end of pregnancy.  but i was 1 cm dialted, which i heard that crampin can be a sing on dialting and i wasnt dialted last week and now i am.  But ive heard of some woman having cramps and it being that there in labor, everyone is different... So try laying on ur side for awhile, drink lots of water, if they dont go away then go in to get checked out, they will prolly tell u its nothing but its better to be safe.  I know it was hard for me cause my doctor is an hour away, so i contiplated going for hours before i did...  Good luck

Are you having any contractions? I would say that it is better to be safe than sorry and you might want to consider going to Labor & Delivery. Hope you feel better soon =)
