:)
Thanks so much, I still have 2 weeks before I get in to see my doc, but at least my mind will be at ease now. Thanks again!
Well, I think the possibility of pregnancy is pretty slim since you took the blood test. That would have been accurate. The weight factor still may play a part in this whole thing even though it hasn't changed much in years. My cousin just went through this same thing, she is a little overweight and has always been like clockwork, until april/may. She got her period on Apr 4th, and then didn't get it until may 28th! There could definately be a hormone imbalance going on, you should have your FSH/LH, Estrogen and Progesterone leels checked just to see. Ovarian cysts also can appear at anytime, and that can affect your period as well.
Thanks so much. I'm still confused though. It was a blood test when I went to the lab and both the blood and urine came up negative. I am slightly overweight, but my weight hasn't changed in many years. I stopped taking the pill due to a family history of breast cancer, and I have fibrocystic breasts. I haven't been under any unusual stress either. So, I'm baffled as to why my period is almost a month late and I feel the way I do. Could it be just hormones, or is there still a chance I may be pregnant?
There are many other reasons why people don't start their periods other than pregnancy. You could have a hormone imbalance, stress, ovarian cysts...also I am not sure about your weight but if you are either overweight or underweight, this can mess with your cycles as well. When you went to the doctor and had them test for pregnancy, was it a blood test or a urine test? The urine tests they use in the offices are pretty much the same thing you buy over the counter, however if they did a blood test, that would most definately be accurate as they measure the amount of pregnancy hormone HCG, as opposed to the urine, it only detects the presence. People get thier positive pregnancy tests at all different times, soem people get them early like 2 weeks after conception, and some people won't get a positive for a month or more after conception, it all depends on your body. When you go back to the doctor, I would most definately ask them for a blood HCG test, and that will tell you what you need to know. They can also discuss with you the possibilities of other situations that may cause that and test for them, and give you a medication that will make you start your period. If you don't want to get pregnant right now, though, you should definately get back on birth control. Good luck, and I hope it all works out for you in the best way!
