Drs tests are less sensitive than First Response, or Clear Blue Digital which are two of the most sensitive you can get...I had the EXACT same thing happen. Peed on a CBD right before my dr's appointment, didn't drink hardly anything...and my urine test came back negative. My daughter is now 9 1/2 months old. Go back in a week and have them do the urine test again. If you want to feel better about it and have more tests do it again in another day or two. I took at least 10 line tests and 2 digital, only two of which were before the drs visit because I was worried that it was wrong too...but nope! I'd say I'm about 100% sure you are pregnant, and you're just too early for the drs test to show positive. Look up www. pee on a stick .com (without) the spaces and there's a list of tests and their sensitivity...I think drs tests are 50mI/u and First response can detect, according to that website as low as 12.5, and you can see the sensitivity levels for the tests on the brands websites. Basically, if you tested positive and continue to on THAT many tests from First Response/Clear Blue...you're pregnant.
There are a few posdibilities here. One is that your doctor's tests are not very sensitive. They are frequently less sensitive than the ones we buy.
In addition to that your urine was very diluited at your app. I would test again tomorrow morning.
The last option is that you are experiencing a chemical pregnancy. That is essentially a label for a very early miscarriage. If that is the case I am so sorry. They are very common, many women experience them and don't even know it, they just assume their period is a few days late. With the advantage of early testing on such sensitive tests that are available now more women realize what has happened. Even an early loss is heartwrenching and I pray that is not the case for you.
An early pregnancy ultrasound will do you no good. At this point you probably wouldn't see anything on an ultrasound and it would just make you more worried. Digital tests are less sensitive and drinking a lot of liquids dilutes the hcg in your urine. I agree with PetiteWonder. Go to a doctor that will allow you to get a blood test. Its far more accurate then anything else.
There are a couple of things that could be going on here..
Generally speaking, the doctors tests are ordered in bulk by a med supply company and tend to be less sensitive than the ones we get in stores.... so its really not uncommon for people to get early positives then get negatives at the doctors..
Why your doctor wont do the blood test makes no sense as it is far more accurate...
Another situation is you peed on 5 tests in the AM before your appointment and then drank a bunch so you could pee on demand.. This will dilute your urine and therefore can effect the results of the test..
Same could happen with the digital test... THey suggest you hold your urine for at least 4 hours without drinking if you are not using first morning urine... so chances are again your urine was diluted at this point...
I mean you got 5 positives the morning before your appointment so chances are the above is true... Go out and buy a first response test and take it tomorrow morning .... or find a doctor that will do an actual blood test, you would want the Beta HCG test...
There is also the option that you are experiencing a chemical pregnancy but I doubt it since you had the positive tests in the AM... I think your urine was just diluted..
Best of luck but you sound pregnant to me!
