Newborn vomited

I had my little boy eight days ago. I was breastfeeding for the first 5 days, until I had to switch him to formula due to my milk not producing and latching issues. This morning he was all sweaty and clammy. I thought maybe he was just hot. Fed him his formula and about a half hour later I had him in my arms and he vomited all of that up. Took his temp under his armpit, it was 99.4, but I know that rectal temps are more accurate, so I took that and it was 98.5. He hasn't thrown up since and it's been about 7 hours. Took his rectal temp again an hour ago and it was 98.2. Why did he vomit? Freaked me out. I'm a new mom. I bawled my eyes out I was so worried. Still am. Any ideas what happened?

Thanks ladies. Our pediatricians office was closed today and resume regular business hours tomorrow, so I'll be calling them first thing in the morning. He also has a bit of a cough. The doctor said that's normal for a newborn though. Either way, calling them tomorrow. Thanks again!

Baby tend to spit up alot.! Some will spit up a little or alot to like they vomit. If your concerned bout it mom, when you take him to his 1st check up informed your son doctor & see if they can switch him to the sensitive formula.

He could be allergic to the formula you're using, it's common, however the fever should be looked after very carefully. You can call your pedi to inform her of the situation she may be able to give you better advice.
