Not sure whether to scream or cry...or both..

Well I'm back from doc appt and NOTHING!!!  He said baby is still pretty high, that if she were a little lower we could do something.  I was so frusterated after he said that I forgot to ask if my cervix had changed any.  I told him how miserable I was.  He's calling me in an antibiotic, decongestant and something for nauseau. He commented that I'd lost 2 lbs...DUH I haven't been eating and when I do it comes back.  My BP was up just a hair at 140/79 and babies HB was 140.  

TODAY he makes the comment about the bumpy rides being a good idea and that I need to find a dirt road with a lot of bumps.  WTF?!?!?! Friday he tells me not to.  Then he tells me to come back on Friday which is my due date, but mentions that he is on call Thursday.  

SO unless this little girl suddenly decides she's no longer satisfied with her current accomodations I'm stuck being miserable a few more days.  Hopefully the antibiotics and decongestant will help tho.  I got the impression that he wants me to have a couple days of antibiotics in me before I deliver.  He didnt' say that but he eluded to it.  

This little girl has a mind of her own and will come whenever she is ready.  At this point atleast I know it won't be TOO much longer.  This doc won't let me go more than a couple days overdue, atleast that seems to be the status quo for him.  SO, with any luck and a ton of prayers by this time next week I will be holding my little girl and feeling a lot better.  It's getting through until then that's the lousy part.

This is my 6th pregnancy that hasn't ended in miscarriage...I've had my share of pregnancy joy LOL

Hope she comes really soon for you! One way of looking at it is that you are going to have a life growing inside you for a little longer. Enjoy that feeling because when she is born you wont experience that anymore. A lot of my friends who have had babies say they miss being pregnant when their baby is born! Good luck! x

LOL.  Well still getting some pains every now and then but the contractions have died off for the most part. May try to walk some after DS takes his nap

How's the cramping and contractions going now? Hopefully your making some progress!! Can't wait to see beautiful Lily. SOOOOOO excited for you! I will definitely keep my fingers crossed and send you a crap load of labor dust!

I'm off to a Dr. Appt for my older DS, then have to do some errands, but will be looking forward to your updates! GAH I'm excited lol, been keeping DF updated on you too....he said I might as well be the one in labor cuz of how excited I am for you lol

If I had one of those machines DH and I both would do nothing but sit around and eat ice pellets LOL.

It's not 5:15 am on Wednesday.  I got a decent bit of rest last night.  Took my antibiotic, some generic dayquil and half of a hydrocodone and knocked myself out LOL. I set up shop in th recliner, complete with tissues, cough drops and humidifier LOL.  I woke up several times but not enough to have to get up.  

Finally at 5 I had to pee and couldn't wait so I'm up. Now that I have been up and moving my sinuses are starting to clear out and of cour the gagging has started...thus begins the battle to not hurl which takes about half an hour.  

This chest crud is now turning into a sinus infection (sinus stuff was clear) and I have a horrible sinus headache but other than that I feel a smidge better. As soonn as I can be fairly sure I'm not gonna puke I'm gonna take my next dose of anitbiotic and some more dayquil.

On another note...I woke up to Lily (we'll stick with that name for now) not moving as much as she normally does in the mornig.  She's moving just not nearly as actively, I'm cramping-like lower back period cramps, had a couple moderate contractions and a little bit more slimy discharge when I went to the bathroom.  Atleast I know my body is TRYING to do something.

holy monkeys i want to buy one of those ice machines for my home.

Every time I eat crushed Ice EVERY TIME I think "boy I wish this was hospital ice"

yeah definitely a good idea to let the antibiotics help you feel better so you can go into labor rarin' and ready to go!

As long as I watch what I eat and try to keep my sinuses clear the puking thing pretty much stays under control.  It's worse after I've been sleeping becuase all the mucus accumulates in my throat and stomach and sinuses and when I get up and move around it all starts working it's way out and gags me.  Gross I know.  But yeah..the ice thing works great for cooling nasal passages and sore throats too. I've been eating popsicles, drinking really cold drinks etc.  I'm actually looking forward to being in the hospital simply becuase I absolutely LOVE Those ice pellets they have.  I'm like literally craving them now.  LOL .  I have an advantage tho...I don't have to worry about ruining my teeth becuase they're fake.  I didn't get enough calcium during my first pregnancy and ended up having to have them all yanked out so that's one thing I DON'T have to worry about ;)

LMAO....poor child she's probably being stubborn becuase she DOESN'T have a name yet!!   But like I told DH I would far rather stay pregnant a few more days and let the antibiotics make me feel better than to try and labor feeling like I've been repeatedly run over by a truck.

I'm sure you've done this before but maybe you just didn't think of it....

I can't take phenergan anymore or compazine or reglan and I don't like Zofran (I found out that because I have allergic dystonic reactions I can't take anything in that family) so the way I managed my end-of-pregnancy nausea and my post-pregnancy nausea iiiiis....chewing ice. it's awful for your teeth but if the chunks are too big let them melt down or used shaved ice.

I'm serious..I swear by it 100% I have a small scoop of crushed ice after every meal to settle my nausea since I have a hiatal hernia but can't treat with anti-nausea meds.


What is WITH your little girl Cass? You just made her too comfy...you're too good of an incubator and she doesn't want to leave, lol. C'mon little Lily/Dani/Lani/Aly/whatever you shall be called! Out, missy!

smj:  benadryl gives me a HORRIBLE hangover.  I'm gonna take another generic dayquil and my next dose of amox. and rest.

im so sorry to hear yur appointment didnt go well and that the decongestant isnt one that works for you! not long now hunni! i want this girl out now cz shes worrying me!her heartbeat has been high for two days in a row and although they aret too worried cz it seems to be lots of movement causing it with the low fluid level it worrys me personally! keep your chin up and hopefully the amoxicillan gives you some respite! :)

I hope you do feel better! Have you tried benadryl? It does have the power to help you sleep as an added bonus.

smj:  yeah I agree.  I'd rather wait a few more days and feel more up to the challenge becuase at this point I'd just blubber my way through it and be begging for an epidural at 2 cm LOL

Cassandra:  don't have a blender or anything of the sort, but I'm eating small things trying to keep something down.  So far so good.

Limonada:  Yeah apparently she's quite content where she is.  Atleast I know she won't stay in there forever.

On a side note, I picked up my meds.  The decongestant he called in for me was claritin.  I told them not to bother filling it becuase it doesn't work for me...besides I have some generic of it already.  So I took my first dose of amoxicillan...he has me taking 500 mg 3 times a day for 7 days.  Plus gave me some promethazine for nausea if I need it.  I'll take another dose of the amoxicillan tonight before bed so we'll see if I feel any better in the morning.

Sorry to hear that the outcome of your doctor's appointment was so far from what you were hoping for :(  Neither of my boys wanted to come out, either.....it just means that you've made far too comfy of a home for her (trying to look on the bright side!)

Cant you PROPER blend down foods? Or drink Soup. Or drink milkshakes? The medication might induce your labour?? You never know!!

It does stink that you can't really be as active and get things going, but she'll be here soon. Hopefully once you get a dose or two of the medication in you things will start to turn around, even if you can't rest so much try to take it easy, it would really stink if you went into labor without having the energy to get through it.

I can pretty well keep liquids down, it's anything with substance to it that I can't.

This medication might help you.. and to keep somethiing down! If you cant keep liquid down, your doc should have gave you something.. Like Dyralite... (for salt) as you're flushing it all out your system....

I wish I COULD rest...I've been sitting around not doing much of nothing for several days, but I'm not getting "rest" becuase all I do is cough and gag and blow my nose 42 thousand times a minute.  

I feel torn here tho...I don't feel like doing anything and I know I need to rest but at the same time I want to feel better and be active so I can get things progressing. This stinks.

If you can keep down liquids, any form of nutrition will do you good. Chicken broth, tomato soup, anything liquid besides just water will do you some good. And REST. It might be hard, but tell DH when he gets home, he's in charge and go lay down and help yourself!! You will be the last person you can get to in a few days, and right now being sick you need to be a little selfish, well selfish isn't really the word I'd use, but I think you know what I mean. You get better so when the little princess comes you have the strength and energy and health to handle it.

LOL At this point I feel so lousy I don't wanna be touched and I don't think I'm up to the bumpy roads either but I may give it a shot depending on how I feel after I get my meds from the pharmacy.  Atleast DH is off the next 2 days and can help with DS2.  

I don't want another strong headed girl...I've already got one and she's a handful as it is.

At this point I've resigned myself to just being miserable for a few more days.  As much as I want to have this kid NOW I do think I'd rather give the antibiotics a day or two to make me feel a little better.  I just can't imagine going through labor with the added stress and discomfort of constant coughing and post nasal drip, etc.  

Now it would be really nice if I could actually EAT something AND keep it down.  I'm so hungry but I can't bring myself to eat becuase I know how it's gonna end up.
