OVERDUE! induction stories or words of encouragement

Okay i am ready to have my little man. My heart is set on not being induced... but i'm starting to lose hope. I'm not overly uncomfortable or anything. i am however exhausted with my dijestive issues but I can and have been handling that the best i can. I went in Monday for a check up and my doctor said she could send me to L&D that afternoon and I almost said yes! I got a little excited I guess. I thought I had already decided though that If he didnt come by thursday that I would ask to be induced this coming Monday but now I think i'm changing my mind... I have 8 more days left of hoping and praying that he comes naturally.

I would love to hear induction stories! Or how long you went overdue with your first. Or words of encouragement to keep me strong! ANYTHING! :)

Hold out as long as you can! My first was born at 40+5 & my 2nd was at 41+5, no induction needed for either!!

My first two were born at 40+4. I'm hoping this one arives a little earlier, but doubt it somehow! Induction isnt always a good option so well done for holding out...in normal circumstances I am quite against induction unless for a good reason, but at 37+4 I'm getting to the point where I'd probably take it! You still have time, and I loved the experience of natural labour after having an awful induction experience first time. Either way your baby will be here soon! Good luck, hope all goes well for you!

I was positive my girl would come early. Then my due date came and i went for my afternoon walk. I ended up jogging (dont ask me how) lol for about 100m. Contractions started 4 hours later. My water didnt break till the the next day and labour was 3 hours. Im convinced it was the jogging. Because up till that day i didnt have one second of back pain, not one braxton hicks, no leaking boobs, no mucus (that i noticed), no pressure down there or signs she had dropped, no nothing! I had to keep reminding myself i was preg. So dont give up yet! :) Fingers crossed for you! I was booked for a stretch and sweep the next monday. She was born on sat at 40 +1.

Hang in there. Totally know how you feel.
I'm in the same boat. Only a day away from my due date. Doctor suggest I can induce anytime this week since my cervix is already at 80%. But in the end we choose to wait out til next week since my fluid is good and baby is not too big according to the ultrasound. As long as it's not harmful to the baby or me, I can deal with the discomfort for a couple more days.
Just want to give the baby a chance to come on his/her own. We can do this, hang in there :)

I've been induced with all three of mine.  My first induction was long and drawn out but long story short my son was face up!  And the nurse gave me the meds wrong.  Second easy went in no time for an epidural had him in an hour and a half.  Third had her 7 hours.  I had her with a little pain meds no epidural and again it wasn't so bad.  I didn't have a choice on my inductions because mine were for medical reasons.  My dr also doesn't believe in going past due date anyway, says the placenta starts breaking down and not functioning as well the further past u go.  Good luck
