Ok to ask for induction at 40w?

Ok so my mother is coming up this saturday and cant stay for very long and ill be 40w next saturday. I want to ask if I can be induced at 40w because my husband is in the military and will only get 10 days off and we live on base in an upstairs apartment AND I have to take care of the dog whn he returns to work... Anyways, my mother can only stay till the 4th of oct. and I would love to get as much help with the baby, apartment, and dog before im on my own after my mother has to leave and my hubby goes back to work. Do you think the Doc would be ok with it?
(I will NOT put up with rude mommies who think they know best for my child!! So dont bash me for asking this because its not like im asking for it at 37 or less weeks!!)

I'm asking for induction at 39+2. Then again I have a complicated pregnancy and my ob is happy if I reach 39.

I agree! You need a few weeks to heal and being in an apartment makes it worse with that process. I have my fingers crossed for you!!!! :)

I just really would like adequate time to rest up and heal so I dont injure myself going up and down stairs with baby and dog when I have to take dog on walks or just go get mail because I will NEVER leave a child alone in the house even for a few minutes. And me and hubby really have no one else that can help up here.:\

Yeah they should do it. I have the same thing going to happen (hubby is air force) and they said yes they will once I at least make it to 40 weeks :)

Doesn't hurt to ask. I'm sure they will. Is it a military doctor you see?
