Placenta prvria?

HI I was just diagnosed with full covering placenta pr via and I am a scared wreck about it. I had 2 other births via c-section and I know with my 2 one I only had a low lying placenta. But with the full covering one I am a nervous wreck with bc I am having some cramping with this one and I am not sure if it is normal or not to have this. If anyone can shed some information on this it would be helpful.  I just want to make sure what I am feeling is normal for something like this.

Thanks in advance
Mommyof3girls.

Thank you all for the information on this I am 22 weeks and 4 days along so I am hoping that it moves out of the way soon.

How far along are you? Just to be safe, I would recommend no sex, pelvic rest, and as close to bed rest as you can get. It's a guaranteed c-section (with 2 previous c-sections, I would assume you were planning on another c-section anyway). I had placenta previa (partial) when I was pregnant, and I had severe cramping and bleeding, but by the end of my second trimester, it "corrected" itself, and all is fine now. I was able to deliver vaginally. I think it depends on how far along you are, and if it moves (in terms of physical limitations). Best of luck. It is very scary, but hang in there, and you will likely be going to the Dr. often to have this monitored, just be sure to follow their instructions.

My mother had the placenta previa with me. She was in the hospital for the last 3 months of pregnancy. Luckily 2 weeks before I was born it moved out the way by itself! I hope this happens for you and I hope you are not put on bedrest! Good luck!

I had a low lying placenta too but it has moved out of the way..... I was spotting all the time it was pretty scary, but the Dr. said it shouldn't cause a miscarriage or anything like that.. she just said no sex.. and dont do anything hard on your body like over exercize... and she also said if it didn't move I would have to get a C-section also...

I'm very sorry to hear this. I don't have any advice because I've never experienced this. I did have a low lying placenta covering half of my cervix and it moved by the second trimester. How far along are you?

You and that baby will be in my prayers!! =) Just have faith, faith of Mom's can move mountains! =)

Hey I watched Deliver Me last night on Discovery Health (3 OBGYNS) and one of the doctors was diagnosed with a full placenta previa and was but on bed rest from 20 weeks out. It is a rather unstable condition and can really go either way. Did your doctors advise you on what steps to take to stay safe? Cramps and even occasional bleeding can be normal but you always need to let your doctor know to make sure there is nothing going wrong. I don't know how far along you are but it is possible for the placenta to move and if it moves slightly then you would be far better off because then it would give your cervix relief.
