Please Help!! My partner has to give another sperm sample why?

My partner gave a sperm analysis last wednesday he wasn't told the results today but was told he would have to go back to give another sample, what does this mean?  does this indicate there maybe a problem?  i'm so scared for him and want things to be fine he sounded gutted when i called him just there as i am at work.  please help me on this!!

thanks very much guys for the input will let you know his results in a few weeks time hoping it's nothing serious

I agree with Mumita! I wouldn't worry about it. It might not mean a thing. They just may need to compare samples.

also, men hate going to the doctor specially when it has something to do with their pride.  Men are very proud of their parts, so if its not working right, it hurts their ego. So be sensitive to his feelings at this time.

sometimes they double check to make sure that they are getting accurate results specialyl since sperm motility can vary from day to day because of the heat or other environmental factors.

i was asked to do 2 blood tests with my first pregnancy and they didn't tell me why either. i was terrified it meant i had hiv or aids...turned out i'm just a rare blood group ( b+ rhesus d ). your husband deserves an answer as to why a second test is necessary...it could be anyhing. maybe they mixed up samples or something like that or maybe they're just not sure about something. i'd advise him to call them back and ask why - not knowing is just the worst for anyone.
