Possible very early pregnancy, mm/c or ectopic?

I posted a "meet and greet" in 1st Trimester, but now I'm not sure if it's 1st trimester or what.  So this is an update and questions.

I went to the doctor on the 10th.  I was there for 4 hours because of the many health problems I have.  They are referring me to a high-risk doctor and may co-manage my care.
They did and ultrasound and I am either very early pregnant (3-4 weeks) or I may have had a mm/c.  The sonographer did say that I have a cyst on my ovary which is a sign of pregnancy.  Another weird thing is that my uterus is very retroverted and to the right, so the sonographer couldn't find my other ovary at all.  (It also explains the left side pain and leg cramps I have been feeling, as that is where my uterus is and not the middle)The issue is that the embryonic sac is very small and they cannot see anything in it other than a little dot (it appears to be in the uterus, but can't tell for sure).

I went in to have blood work done for hcg level yesterday and will go again on Mon to have a re-check.  Then I go to the doctor again on the 17th.  I'm trying not to be nervous.  I wasn't planning this pregnancy and at first was a little panicked because my children are 12 and 9 and I thought I was done having babies.  But now I am happy about the pregnancy and grateful for this gift from God.  I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much, though.

I'm just trying to stay calm and rest.  I'm glad to have this community to go to with people to talk to who have gone through the "wait and find out" situation in pregnancy.

The doctor told me not to have sex (as the last time left me in tears with strong cramps/contractions.  He also told me to go to the ER if I have ANY pain.  I'm currently having a little bit of pain on the left side, but I'm not sure if it's normal or not?  I think I'll give it a few minutes and walk around then call the doctor if it persists.

Has anyone here every had issues with a very retroverted uterus or with going in and the embryonic sac being very very small?  I welcome any comments.  Information from prior experience or someone you know is appreciated..

Thank you both for your responses and encouragement!  The pain went away for a little bit, but seems to be coming back a little bit.  My DH feels sure that everything is going right, but he also took the last m/c so hard last time that I think he just doesn't want to imagine anything wrong.
I think I will call the Dr. and find out if a this is a type of pain they would want me to go in for.  I really hope it's just stretching and the baby is getting bigger.  It's so weird when everything happens on only one side.  Although now that I think about it I think when I had strong cramps post-sex they were on both sides.

Thank you again for the responses!

I had a missed miscarriage, with mine there was SO much flood in the uterus (since it kept growing) that they had a hard time finding the baby.  I know finding out that the baby is too small, etc is very scary, since you'r not 100% sure of when you fell pregnant all you have to do is relax and hope for the best.

I'd say if you are feeling some pain that you need to call your dr's office at least and see what they want to do.  Pain is common in the first trimester, but in your case shouldn't be ignored.  I'm not sure about one side or the other, but I've felt in all 3 pregnancies mussels twinging (not sure how to describe it), but basically the mussels stretching to accomidate the growing uterus.  Hopefully that's what the pain is, but if it isn't you should at least talk to your dr.

I hope that things work out.
