Possibly could have a kidney infection. :/

So, I was experiencing back pain and asked opinions. After being told I needed to call the doctor, I did. She told me that I could have a kidney infection and if it gets worse I need to go to the ER. Not what I wanted to be told :( anyone else experienced a kidney infection while pregnant?

Can either one of you tell me the symptoms? Is it normal for it to be on one side only?

If it hurts right under your rib cage on your back, on left, right or both sides that doesn't go away with resting, get checked.

I had a double kidney infection during my first trimester. I thought it was just back pains from the pregnancy and didn't get it treated until I was extremely sick and was hospitalized for 3 days. I would say go in right away and just have them take and urine sample. Better to be safe than sorry. I hope you feel better!

Hi there.  Sorry to hear this.  That is not uncommon though.  It's basically along the same lines as a urinary tract infection and they will treat you with antibiotics.  /The good news is that the drugs work pretty fast and you will feel better in 24 to 48 hours.  Kidney infections are painful.  I'm sure you are uncomfortable.  I'd get treated as soon as possible.  Hope you feel better.
