I am 11 weeks pregnant. I have the copper IUD in place. 4 doctors have tried to remove it, but it has embedded itself into the walls of my lower uterus.
and I agree.... It is SOOOO annoying and irritating for women who really ARE, CONFIRMED pregnant WITH an IUD in place, to try to find information, help or support from people who have something beneficial to add, with out the dramatic stories and ignorance of women who do not know how to take a HPT and read the results correctly. .... I could rant on and on. I'll stop before i come off as a *****. I am just irritated, and maybe a little hormonal.... hahahah
I personally have not gotten pregnant with an IUD, but my managers wife did. Now she is six months pregnant with a healthy baby inside. IUD is not 100 % effective. I would talk to your doctor.
The IUD has a failure rate of about 1% so there is always a slim chance of getting pregnant while on it.
My experience has been that most people on birth control that post "could I have gotten pregnant" and then dont follow up are usually NOT pregnant which is why they dont re-post at that time (sometimes that poster will re-post a similar question months later).
Good luck with that...many women come here as guests ask a question and never come back...the ones that finish the story are "locals" people that are on here everyday pretty much until after they have their babies.
My issue is that i am reading posts from women who think they are pregnant and say they are going to the doctor or take a test, but they never come back and tell what happened. i have been searching for someone to follow up with their story...
Pregnancy with an IUD is not very common at all. Many women get scared that they may be pregnant witht he Mirena IUD because those hormones in that IUD make your periods very light or non existant.
If you were to become pregnant with an IUD the chances are that it will be an ectopic pregnancy. If you do become pregnant with an IUD whether its ectopic or not, it has to be removed immediately because it may cause harm to the developing fetus, but removal can also cause a miscarriage.
If you think that you may be pregnant take a test, but again it is very very very uncommon for someone to get pregnant with an IUD. The chances are lower than birth control pills.
