Protein Excess protein in your urine can be a sign of a urinary tract infection (UTI), kidney damage, or certain other disorders. Later in your pregnancy, it can also be a sign of preeclampsia if it's accompanied by high blood pressure. If you have protein in your urine but your blood pressure is normal, your sample will be sent to the lab for a culture to see whether you have a UTI.
It coukd be a UTI or kidney infection because you are earlier on. Also could be from dehydration.

Also keep in mind that certain medications and dehydration can also cause the problem.
Ok thank you I am only 14+4 and I read if its preeclampsia it is more noticeable later on in tri two and early tri three I was just worried.
I had the same problem about a month ago. The cause for concern is that high levels of protein in urine is an indication of preeclampsia . However if it is low, like yours measured they will just monitor your blood pressure and any swelling you get. Don't stress it though :) everything should be fine
