Question for breastfeeding moms

Ok so I had my 3 weeks ago Thursday , no tears & my bleeding has stopped . I'm exclusively breastfeeding & contemplating if I want to give sex a try . If I do , shuld I use a back up method or is breastfeeding really reliable as birth control wen yu follow the lactational amenorrhea method which I am ? I'm 19 & an ftm

if your using tht method thats the best thing to do, you need to use your breast when they're fussy and when they need comfort, also lying down to feed with them is good, give you a rest and helps with the style of breastfeeding that your trying to achieve :)

My daughter used a dummy... dummy monsta!  and i started solids at 6months with still breastfeeding till she turned 1... I didnt get periods back till well after id stopped completly. so no pregnancys either....

Thank for the advice ladies .. Stacey10 I am using a pacifier but its rare because she won't suck it so wen she's fussy I'll put her on my breast until she calms down

I'm going against what the others have said, because your using the  lactational amenorrhea method, and if your following it properly your safe for at leat 3 months until you have your first period or until baby has started some soilds :) I have used this method and have had no problems, just make sure your not using a dummy either :)

I breastfed for a year and never got pregnant. but he did always pull out at climax.  a few times he did finnish inside but i didnt get pregnant as i didnt even get my period back till after id finnished breastfeeding. but everyone is different. so if your dead against getting pregnant again then get some contraception. :)

Use back up. Some women get their periods back like clockwork despite bfing.
