Rash after fever...

Ok, I posted that DS had a fever for four days and took him to the doctor and they said it may be viral. No specifics, I just got a "it may be viral" and a piece of paper to sign saying go home. Yesterday morning he woke up with a rash all over his chest, back, face, and head, and it started spreading to his arms and legs. I took him back to the doctor with no answers, and the nurse saying to set up an appointment, I couldn't call until this morning since the appointment desk was closed for the day, and now he has an appointment Friday. Today his rash is worse all over where it previously was, and has spread to his arms and legs...I'm thinking about taking him to the hospital tomorrow, but wanted to see if any of you had any advice as to what it may be/experiences like this. I've been googling rashes most of the day, and I'm just worrying myself...

That is just a rash that babies and children get after having a virul infection or a fever from a viral infection for a long period of time. It is nothing and it wont hurt the baby it is basically just a way of the body saying "man that was hard on me" My daughter had RSV when she was 9 months old....she was sick 12 days and had a fever every one of those days. she was close to being in the hospital anyways after the fever fianlly broke she broke out in a rash from head to toe .. I'm crazy so I rushed over to the doctors  he said it was fine and would go away quickly.

BTW- it looked so bad at one point that I didnt trust the doctors and wanted to bring him in anyways. It started fading shortly after.

Look up roseola. I think thats how its spelled. Very common childhood illness. your son is around that age. there is no treatment either except a little TLC.. My DS just had that about a month ago and it was pretty scarey. Of corse dont self diagnos, bring him in and ask the doctor if thats what it could be. I diagnosed my self and than called in to the nurse line and they knew what it was right away and I didnt even have to bring him in.
