Short Femur Length

Hi there,

My wife is carrying twins one boy and one girl and she is on the 28th week of pregnancy. We have a boy and a girl.

Our doctor said that our baby girl fetus has short Femur Length. Here are both ultrasounds we had for the girl. We are schedule for an amnio on the 2th of January 2008.

US 1 (2007/10/17) : BPD:516mm, HC 1858mm, AC:1604mm, FL:311mm
US 2 (2007/11/31) : BPD:6,83cm, HC 25,54cm, AC:21,87cm, FL:422mm

How bad is that for out little girl? If the amnio test shows that everything is ok and there are no chromosom anomalies, is our baby going to be healty or as healty as any other baby that did not have this kind of problem be ? Is it just going to be short ? is there any chance it will grow up as it would not have this problem ?

Thank you in advance,
karanaso

I have no idea what those readings mean. Wish I did but we're not doctors here. This is a public forum. Did the technician seemed concerned? I'm really sorry, but I don't know what to tell you. I want to reassure you that if there are no choromosomal issues, then your daughter could probably grow normal. But again, I'm no doctor. I really wish you the best of luck! You're a sweet man to get on here and try to find answers. It's rare to see men in here.
