Strep B positive while trying to conceive? Is the pregnancy healthy?

Has anyone who is pregnant now tested + for group B before you conceived? If so did your doc say it increased the risk of miscarriage in the first trimester? Did they try and treat it prior to you getting pregnant? Thanks for any help.

Hi I am a strep b carrier and tested positive before and during pregnancy.  It doesnt affect you when u r ttc its only when u r pregnant and going into labor.  They will give you iv antibiotics to keep u from passing it to baby during birth.  I had antibiotics with all 3 of my labors and never passed it to my babies.  All are healthy.  Good luck.

I was pregnant with my son when I had strep I was maybe 4-5 weeks and it didn't show on the pregnancy test they gave me before they gave me a shot but it didn't cause any problems for my pregnancy or my son. He is now 3 1/2.

As far as I know, Strep B doesn't affect us falling pregnant the only concern is the possible chance of infecting a baby as it is getting delivered. I have it and I have asked about it and my Doc said in no way does it affect us falling pregnant. Please don't worry to much.
