Tanning

Personal opinions aside. It is okay to tan pregnant right?  If not than we arent safe tanning either because the baby has a lot of protection.

I'm right there with you. I love tanning and yes it's addicting, but I've been skipping out because like others say it raises your body temperature and can harm the baby. Same thing with a hot bath, hot tub, or sauna. Tan outside but drink plenty of fluids and don't get too hot. Use sunblock even if you don't normally because your skin is more sensitive during pregnancy. I got fried over a month ago and I honestly think it was the worst burm I've ever had on my face and I was only outside an hour and a half.

If its warm out where you live sit outside in the sun for a little with a big bottle of water, sunscreen and a good book :) it will feel so relaxing! I did that with my first and he loved it and now he is 20months old and I swear he live outside if we let him lol you can even fill a little spray bottle with water to spray yourself with if ya start getting warm!

stick with the lotions!!(: jergens, like mentioned above is great. If you're worried about streaks, put baking soda on a dry was cloth and rub where the streaks are. it makes it even out! the things you can learn from watching the Doctors. lol

It is definitely not okay too tan while pregnant. Tanning in the long run is actually harmful to you too. I say do the research and you'll have a better understanding as to why it is not okay and how it can be very harmful to your baby. I know of a girl that tanned her pregnancy and the poor child was born blind. There are also many unknown risk that just isn't worth taking. Also like some of the ladies mentioned, they won't let you tan if they know you're pregnant. I recommend the self tanning lotions. Some work wonders!

A lot of places wont let you tan if they know you are pregnant.  Think it depends on their policies.

I go outside to tan, went fishing a few weeks back and forgot my sunblock, you burn easily when pregnant, I can tell you that much. :-P

Trying using the lotions that gradually tan you, I know jergens has it and walmart has their own brand that's cheaper..I'm a pretty pale girl and obviously can't use tanning bed right now so I just try to get natural sun when I can and then use the lotion everyday.

Doctors tell u to avoid ALL tanning beds during pregnancy it puts off radiation and raises your temp just like a hot tub (also to be avoided) and could potentially harm the baby

It's not the protection its that your body gets to warm for the baby and can do savior damage or even make you miscarriage.. I looked into it because I love tanning and wanted to know how big of a deal it was but its very harmful :/ hope this helps
