The show "I did not know I was pregnant"

I just watched this show on Discovery Health I know its been on before but I was finally able to catch it....I guess that answers alot of peoples questions on here, I never thought you could be pregnant and not no it, but I guess if your not regular and you go to the doctor and they dont find anything wrong how would you know, they say some people never feel there baby move because of where there placenta is....it was a really interesting show to me....I was just wondering if anyone else has saw it before or maybe watched it tonight??? What were you thoughts?

I thought it was crazy myself, but I guess it is common... The nurse when I was in High School said there was a girl that came into her office for cramping and wound up being in Labor.... I guess once you go through a normal pregnancy you cant imagine not knowing....

It can definitely happen. My mom was 40 yeras old, still had regular cycles, and found out she was 5 months pregnant . She ended up going into labor at 29 weeks, and then found out she was pregnant with twins when they did the c section. The other baby was up behind the other hiding in her rib cage and the ultra sound couldnt pick her up. She seriously didnt know she was pregnant until she started feeling them move.  She hadnt gained any wieght or started showing until just after she found out she was pregnant. In fact she lost 10 or 15 pounds before she ever gained anything. Then she got a belly over the next couple months. Crazy huh?

I watched it and I still don't see how you couldn't feel movement. I have a tilted uterus and I had an anterior placenta, which were two of the excuses. My belly would pop and roll all over the place. I can see if someone was overweight not noticing a belly or someone with irregular periods but I still don't see how you wouldn't feel a healthy baby's movement. I guess I  just can't grasp that concept.

My husband and I actually almost got into an argument over that show LOL.  I've always understood how a women could POSSIBLY not know she was pregnant.  My mom had regular "periods" throughout her entire pregnancy with my brother and did not show at ALL until he flipped forward at 8 months.  With my first pregnancy I suffered from oligohydramnioses (lack of amniotic fluid) and IUGR (intrauterine growth restriction).  While I DID gain weight...it was spread out and I just looked FAT, not pregnant.  The lack of fluid afforded little room for my daughter to move therefore any movement I DID get could have easily been attributed to gas.  I missed my period and that's what clued me to take a test.  BUT has I had MY situation coupled with what my mom had (the regular "periods") it would be easy to discount pregnancy.

My husband thinks these women are full of doodoo but what do men know lol.  I think it's possible to not know but I think many (not all) people use that as an excuse as well.

well, the girl i mentioned i would say she was about 5',8" and she weighed about 130 before she found out....you know the lil pooch you have on your tummy after you have a baby...that's what she had....she just thought she was gaining a lil bit of weight...her boyfriend freaked out and so did her mom and dad (she was 17) i know her bf was so freaked out that he broke up with her for about 3 weeks and then finally came to his senses...lol!

I don't have satellite or cable so I don't get to see it (BUMMER) but I wanted to say that with BOTH of my girls the placenta was in the front and took a lot of the blows. My baby's movements always felt like rolls and pushes, instead of kicks. I've wondered if that was because of where the placenta was. But I could definitely tell I was pregnant, LOL! Couldn't miss my basketball tummy.

So are these women usually overweight? I can't imagine a tiny thing not noticing her stomach bulging?

i dont get discovery health channel, but i do know some one who didn't find out she was preggo until she was almost 8 months....all of her home test showed up negative, her periods were irregular, and she did have a few periods, and she noticed that she had gained 10 lbs. but she was not showing.....her lil boy weighed over 6lbs....my mom and sister both bled for the first 2 months (sis) and 3 months (mom) so it kinda doesn't freak me out all that bad......but it is very interesting that home test cant pick it up/ and some women dont gain weight or even miss a period!

I too was able to catch it tonight on Discovery Health.  It was very interesting to me.  The part that I couldn't get was I thought everyone had some kind of a baby bump, but these women did not.  I can understand how your not regular and therefore not know, but I thought sooner or later something had to happen to let you know you were.  And it's a miracle those babies were fine even though they hadn't had any prenatal care at all.  Especially the woman that gave birth to the twins.  I was talking to a friend of mine and she told me her daughter just found out that she is pregnant...and is 6 months.  Said she bled the entire time and assumed she was having a period.  It's really shocking to me.
