Too late to change the way I want to give birth?

Im 39weeks today and wanted to go with a natural birth but after reading up on it I got scared of the thought of it. So I want a C-sec, 3 weeks back my baby boy measured a bit big and the doc said I might not be able to go natural but the week after that he said its okay I can go natural.
I don't want unneccesary stress but the two past nights I've been so nervous my arm was shaking.

You REALLY should try to have him/her natural first. My son was measuring big, and I'm 4'11, still tried to have him natural, if it's not going to work, it's not going to work, so you'll end up with a c-section if necessary. Your body is built to give birth, and a c-section is hard on your body, I healed rapidly, but I have a very high pain tolerance. It's getting layers of your stomach cut open, so imagine standing up after that, it's SCARY, and painful, but you'll deal either way. Either way it's painful. I would definitely try natural first.

Went to the doctor today and he said there is a 50% chance that if I do normal birth that I'll end up in a emergency c-sec because my boy is big. I know natural is best thats why I was so keen on doing it. Im now scheduled for a c-sec Sunday morning :)

Can you explain what you are afraid of? Knowledge is power and I think the more you know and understand about the labor/delivery process should make you feel better. Birth should be a natural process not a medical process. You were built to do this. Review the stages of labor. Understanding the process allows you to concentrate on opening your body up during labor instead of closing it up with tension. Think about things that normally are soothing to you in times of stress. Find ways to incorporate those things into your birth plan. Good luck to you!

I was able to have an optional c-section when i was 16 i was to scared to have it natural and having my down there stretched out or cut. I dont regret it because i healed fast and had no pain in 4 days after delivery and my incision is faiding away. BUT i would suggest you try vaginal first and see how it goes maybe you will like that experience.

Giving birth naturally is a wonderful experience. I would suggest giving it a try before giving in entirely and not trying at all. Something you can do now is do perineum stretches, gives you an idea of what they call the ring of fire. I remember feeling that sensation and knowing what it was and accepting it instead of stopping pushing. I found it very helpful. But get your man to help you do a stretch and see how you feel about it. It really wasn't as scary as they make it seem.
Best of luck and Congratulations!

I prefer to have a c-section rather than natural birth and it only took me 1 week to heal in all. I am now having another c-section with this baby and i chose to have a c-section but if this is your first i dont think they will allow you to choose unless you have complications or there is danger to your baby. But the epidural will help and you just may have a natural birth after all. :-)

C section is harder on your body and takes longer to heal. If you're worried about the pain look into your options.

can i assume this is your first pregnancy then? i've never had a natural birth before but one thing i can tell you for sure is, ask for an epidural right away. depending on your pain threshold, having that epidural in can help. some women i know say there's a major difference between taking the epidural and not taking it.

i know you're so close, you're making yourself nervous about the delivery. but i say try to relax as much as you can and get your mind off of it. before you know it, all of this will be over and done with. good luck and congrats!

You can't opt to just do a c section because. There are many pain options for you to utilize!! Women have been giving birth for 100's of years!! And the measurements aren't always correct, keep that in mind too!

Unless there's a medical reason, I don't think you can just have a c section. Some Dr's will allow it but most won't.
