At 19 i had son all natural. No medication for pain or anything els i used hot shower and heat packs to deal with the pain and my son was delivered after 13 hours and 15 minuts of labour. Will be doing it the same way this time around

I was 38 weeks 4 days when my contractions started. I'd had no braxton hicks or any other signs of labour so was really surprised when they started 5 minutes apart at 9pm. In the UK, you ring the hospital once your contractions are arriving every 3 minutes which for me happened within an hour. (My pregnancy was classed as high risk because I have a hole in my spine because of this, as soon as i rang I was asked to go in to be checked) I was 4cm with my waters bulging so they decided to keep me in. It took an hourto sort my room out. The midwife came down took me to my room examined me again and I was still 4cm so she broke my waters. I delivered my little girl back to back at 1:16am. I tore and ended up with 6 stiches, i was told this wouldn't have happened if she hadn't have been back to back. I only used gas and air and plan on doings same this time. Completely amazing experience, would definitely recommend an active labour!

I had a very successful vaginal delivery. I got induced at 40+2  at 1:40pm and had my baby at 1:39am. I also got the epidural n didn't know when to push but my Dr and nurses guided me through it, my daughter made a very slow entrance and I got no tears and baby was beautiful as could be.

I had contractions for about 11 before they got to 5 minutes apart for an hour and it was another hour before I got admitted to the hospital at which point I had an epidural.  I hadn't planned to,  but I was exhausted and in so much pain that I changed my mind. I had been able to get in a warm bath, walk around, eat, lay on my side, and sit right up until I got the epidural. When I got to the hospital they took me to triage and hooked me up to a monitor to check contractions and checked to see how far I was dilated and effaced. They also put in an iv on my hand. They determined I was definitely in labor and took me up to  labor & delivery. The guy came in and gave me the epidural. I just sat on the bed and he inserted it with no pain or problems. Once I got it and it kicked in x my BP plummeted and I had 2 shots of ephedrine, but I was fine and the pain was gone. I had to stay in the bed at that point with an external monitor for contractions and another to monitor the baby. I also had to get a catheter which I didn't feel at all. I  had only the midwife, one nurse, and my husband with me from then on. My progress slowed because of the epidural and I was able to sleep a little.  The midwife and nurse both tried to break my water several times. They used a long skinny hook, but neither of them were able to break it. And they kept checking me. I didn't feel any of that, but I never lost feeling in my legs and eventually I started feeling the contractions again. It had been about 7 hours when the nurse was checking me and my water broke on her. Shortly after that the contractions got really intense and painful and close together and I knew I had to push. They were able to raise the bed partly, but I still wasn't allowed to sit up or move around because I'd had the epidural. It was honestly very painful and I had no trouble pushing. The medication either wasn't working anymore or had run out. I pushed for about an hour before he came out. They kept telling when I was close but I couldn't tell until he came out. I have no idea if I pooped and I  tore badly, but I didn't know until they told me.  Immediately after he came out they wiped him off and a baby nurse was there to check him and weigh and measure him. During that few minutes I delivered the placenta which required another push but was not painful. Then they immediately gave my boy to me. I held him against my chest skin to skin and he breastfed for about 45 minutes. They let me hols him a little over an hour altogether. During that time the midwife stitched me up. I felt the needle she used to numb me and I felt the stitching, but I barely noticed it. After that they took me to a room and took my baby to bath him, give him shots and do blood work. Then they brought him right back to me. I delivered him at 825 am and we had visitors all day so I didn't rest at all. We were in the hospital 2 days. They checked me regularly day and night. The nurses would push on my belly to get all the blood and anything left of the placenta out every time they came in. They showed me how to clean my bottom when I went to the bathroom and would shower. The only part of the who experience that was really difficult was the hour of pushing.  I definitely freaked out and was screaming until the nurse got directly in my face and told me that I had to calm down and focus. After that I did much better. Sorry this is so long. Tried to include everything I can remember. This time I'm going to try to go without the epidural again cause it helped me to be able to move around and to labor in the water. We'll see though.

I just had my baby vaginally. Its not bad, completely gross i wanted to see it happen so the nurses went and got a mirror for me to see , i got an epidural i literally couldnt move or feel my legs or feel my contractions so the nurses had to tell me when to push. I couldnt push hard enough because i couldnt feel anything so the doctor cut me to speed things along after the baby was out they handed me her and then took her to clean her pulled out the placenta and stitched me up. The day after i felt pain from my stitches but they give you pain relievers you have to make a bm before you leave the hospital and cant have sex till you 6 week cheakup .
