Sorry I meant to add...even overweight women are recommended to gain at least a few lbs. So don't diet no matter what if you feel like your weight gain is starting to pick up in a few weeks; just make healthy choices. But 2 lbs is hardly a big deal..don't stress.
I've lost weight with all 3 of my pregnancies so far.
Basically, you need to make sure you're eating regularly and maximizing your calories. this goes for every woman, no matter how much she starts her pregnancy weighing (or how little), and no matter what her weight does during the pregnancy.
what this means is...if you are so sick that you can barely eat, make sure that what you're eating has the maximum amount of nutrients. things like whole grain bread, fruit, carrots, stuff like that are good ways to maximize important nutrients without upsetting a sensitive tummy.
I ended my last two pregnancies by walking out of the delivery room a few lbs lighter than I started the pregnancies...and I'm probably going to do the same with this pregnancy (i've already lost 20 lbs from vomiting and I'm only 14 weeks) but I've delivered two healthy 7-lb babies by making sure I was eating healthy and keeping up with my fluids and vitamins.
just do your best...baby will take what he/she needs as long as you're keeping up the nutrition :-)
I was 64kg wen i got pregnant.now i m 26w n weight aroumd 77kg.my doctor has told me to be careful while eating.n she has told me to start walking so as to slow down my weight gain...
I was so sick with my son that I lost about 35 pounds and only gained back about 15. But I stayed sick til about 7 months. :/ my current pregnancy I am 14 weeks and am finally feeling better but am still -15 pounds. It just depends on the person. I am typically around 185 pounds so losing a few isn't going to hurt much. And when I do eat I try to eat as healthy as possible.
I gained about 45lbs with each of my pregnancies. And with my previous Max I stopped gaining weight at about 36 weeks and I was worried. I kept asking the dr if this was normal. As long as your doc is aware of the situation I would just try to do the best I could. Good Luck
I have gained about 30 pounds through my entire pregnancy. The last two weeks, I have actually lost a pound a week. And my doctor is happy about it. I have preeclampsia and he said that losing the two pounds means I am losing water retention. So it just depends on the situation.
in the first trimester i lost 20+ lbs... but i have that weight to lose, and it wasnt by my choice(morning sickness) but in the end i didnt gain weight through my pregnancy which was nothing to worry about because the bigger you BMI is the less you are expected to gain... as long as you are not "dieting" to lose weight and you are eating as healthy as your pregnancy will let you then there isnt a worry.... so in your case as long as you are not trying to lose weight, this sounds healthy to me...
You don't intentionally want to lose weight while pregnant, unless under doctor guidance. Some women do and don't have a choice. When I was pregnant I lost 25 pounds because I was so ill, and my daughter came out 6 pounds 12 ounces and very healthy.
As long as you eat properly and do NOT starve yourself, it shouldn't be a problem. Baby will take what it needs from you and you will suffer from it before they do.
I had a friend that was Bulimic. (IN NO WAY TO I ENCOURAGE THIS WHILE PREGNANT!!) She would hardly eat anything and by the time she was 7 months she had only gained 12lbs. She ended up having a 9lb baby via-c-section. It is never a good idea to lose weight while pregnant.
well.....i stoppped really being sick from around 16 - 20wks.
i am my normal self now but i dont really eat the same quantity like before. i eat small portions often, probably that why i dont really gain the weight. i'm cool with that anyway
Its not as long as the baby is growing. I'm 40 weeks and still -12lbs. I was really sick at the beginning and lost 24 lbs so I have gained some back but I'm still -12 from my pre pregnant weight and the doctor estimates my baby to be 9+ lbs
