Weight gain

Hey guys, it's my first pregnancy and I am freaked out about gaining weight. Like really. I have been crying uncontrollably almost every night now because i am so worried and scared about it. I told my husband tonight that i would rather die than get fat. Unfortunately I just found out that in the first 3 months and 1 week I have gained around 16 pounds! I am panicking. I don't think I have been eating more than normal and I try to eat healthy food. I certainly eat more healthy than i used too. I have been really struggling to exercise every day not because I don't want to, but because my depression makes it difficult for me. But maybe this is the scare I need to get moving.

Just eat healthy and walk . You will be fine ! As long as your doctors not worried then don't stress so much about it. But if you are upset about it then try to do better

**and yes I did eat when I was hungry, not clean eating either. I have no idea how I gained so much but looked like a small 9 mo old pregnant lady anyways after gaining 54 lbs:) my doc said I looked great and was not at all concerned.
******If you are underweight before pregnancy , you are expected to put on more than 30-40 lbs

Don't worry about it! My pregnancy my starting weight was 107 lbs , I didn't start showing until 4 1/2 months but had gained a lot of weight (total of 54 lbs when I delivered her) but you couldn't tell at all. I was all belly and didn't look very big at 9 months either. Just relax:) all the weight fell right off. I am now 3 mo preg with my second and weight 112 , I've gained maybe 3 lbs total but I'm sure I'll gain about 40 by the end of it also. It's no big deal, it really will fall right off :)

I have 10 days left and have only gained 25 pounds . it's about eating healthy and. Enough for you to be full. Just cause you eat for two doesn't mean you have to stuff yourself.

I was the same way this is ny first pregnancy i am in my 35 weeks i started weighing 133lbs and now im 196lbs i didn't kjow it at the time because i have always eaten healthy and been super active but the rapid weight gain was a sign of gestational diabetes i had a glucose test at 16 weeks and passed then again at 28 weeks and failed both the 1hr and 3hr i am still eating healthy and i am still super active but it doesn't help. I am not sharing this to alarm you but to let you know it is a possibility to have GD and the doctors not catch it in time even if they test early if i had had someone warn me wgat tge rapid weight gain meant i would have started changing my diet a lot sooner and excersing differently

If you have clinical depression, you should talk to your counselor/therapist about your feelings regarding gaining weight and that you're struggling with over gains and you don't feel up to doing day to day activities like excersising. Medication usage can be pretty limited in pregnancy and there are some risks, but talk to your provider and maybe increase your sessions.

Wow. I just really wish I was in your situation. But that would also be stressful. Maybe eat food that's high in healthy fat? Like nuts and avacados and olives. I don't know!! :) Good luck!

Thanks. I know it is a lot of weight. I don't have a scales and that is something I apparently need. I wasn't really concerned because I didn't really look like i had gained weight. I will definitely try to eat more fruit and veggies and I think I will join a prenatal exercise class if I can. I do have a gym membership and I didn't even know it...! Hey I guess I will make use of it!

As long as your doctor  isn't worried about weight gain you will be fine I'm 32 weeks and have only gained 5 lbs but that's because I lost 15 lbs in the 1st tri. As long as your eating healthy you will be ok
