Weight loss while pregnant?

I know it isn't recommended and frowned upon  but I'm sure it isn't killer completely. I want to lose eight because at 2 months pregnant I already gained 6 pounds. Call it selfish. Call it what you will. I do not intend on blowing the heck up. So any suggestions on how to diet? (No not like starve, but what foods to avoid and what portions of what) I should start walking now!

Its not rocket science. And Kim K looked like a healthy pregnant woman! If you were gonna feel "guilty" about gaining weight you shouldnt have gotten pregnant. I eat what I want because I have the motivation after to lose the weight.  Seriously skipping meals is just dumb. Sounds like something deeper than just the weight. And as for the harsh comments.....alot of women in this forum have had miscarriages or have lost babies. I'm being one of them. We wouldve done whatever possible for that not to have happened. So when someone posts something like this of course its going to aggrevate us.

Yes! I have never been a fan of breakfast! Always makes me feel uneasy. But I like banana shake with a bread with Nutella and bam.

I drink the carnation breakfast shake for breakfast instead of eating a meal. Ain't nobody got time for breakfast. I cook for my kids but the smell of breakfast makes me queasy so shake it is.

Agh! insanity is the Sweetest. I always dragged *** after lol I'm not uncomfortable riding but it's a Suzuki GSXR 600 and Ducati 848 evo. Both fast and both heavy bikes. So I wear heels to even reach the floor and most weight is on my thighs and stomach to balance the bike but now I can't do that anymore. So doctor told me to stop riding for my own safety and of course baby but I miss it. You have no idea.

I was doing insanity as well up until I found out I was pregnant again. I used to have a motorcycle that I rode with my first pregnancy until I was too uncomfortable to do so anymore.

Well I was doing insanity workout and I ride street motorcycles but I had to stop. So doctor said as long as my HB stays below 140 and I stop if I feel dizzy or nauseous and drink plenty of water and  stay off my back for the most part I'm okay.

I plan to gain 7.5 pounds for the baby, 1.5 pounds for the placenta, 2 pounds for the amniotic fluid, 2 pounds for uterine enlargement, 2 pounds for breast tissue, 2 pounds for blood volume, 4 pounds of fluid in maternal tissue, and 7 pounds of maternal fat stores for an average total of 30 pounds.
I already have a diet plan. And pregnant friendly exercises. Y'all seem to be extremely upset about how much I can care about my weight. I'll be fit after birth. Y'all negative nancy wait.

Started out at 261, then 266, I'm back to 261, I'm 26 weeks.. you wouldn't think I'm over 200. Its all in how you carry it. I eat how and what I want. I work a lot and try to stay busy so I don't over eat. I may be over weight, but it has nothing to do with it. I over indulge when I want and I have yet to gain anything. I was worried about gaining too, that will pass.. and it will trust me. I will see what I weigh Friday, but I check every week and the scale showed I lost. Water weight is a big part of it too.. do what you want, you will anyway.. its not our worry to worry over.

And I can work out contrary to the belief that its not okay in a pregnancy. Just nothing like abs! :)

I'm just glad I have no symptoms so morning sickness isn't an issue. I'll just cut down on greasy foods! (I don't get cravings) but if I do, doctor said its okay to have some in moderation just to stop the craving. She told me I don't have to indulge in things I don't want too even if I'm craving it such as like... Pickles. She said just one to 4 slices and I'm okay.

Lol, I'm gonna ignore the other comments and contain my vulgar language only because they'll see a bunch of little astrics. Anyway, I had a chat with the doctor and they told me I shouldn't eat 2 full meals instead she wrote down a chart of exactly and what time and what to eat and how much of it. She says 4-5 meals daily. Its about quality not quantity, and even suggested what excercises i can perform and also water aerobic tips! sounds like fun! All really delicious yet healthy stuff. Thanks to all who have been understanding and realistic as well and not just going up my *** about how I'm starving my child. And now it is I appalled about how you can say you contribute to this forum yet like to bash lol.

Im eating healthy, lots of water, fruits and veggies. Im doing a lot more meals including tofu abd less meat (mostly cuz it makes me sick) and i was in my oerfect BMI pre-pregnancy. I eat little meals more often since my stomach is all squash lol and at 35+6days (ive lost 10lbs before cuz of morning sickness) but went back up and gained an extra 1lbs. So really i gained 11lbs in total but im only 1lbs over my original weight. My dr isnt happy and says i should gain more. Unlike you im not trying to watch my weight it just happened naturally. Yes it is selfish (just being honest) because you may of gained 8-10lbs now but doeant mean youll gained that much every month. Ur eating pattern will go up and down during ur pregnancy. Some weeks youll eat less then others. And if u breastfeed your bond to lose all ur baby weight withing 2-4weeks. And some women are very careful with what they eat and exercises and still gain 60lbs. A lot is just water being held and remember u have a placenta and aminiotic fluid and the rest. If u have more fluids youll weight more....if baby weights more youll weight more.

I eat healthy and stay active and I'm still getting huge! I was 100 lbs before and have gained 28. I'm still confident I'll lose it once baby is here.

Don't worry my doctor said alot of the weight you gain in the first couple months is mostly water weight, I gained 27 pds in the first 5 months then I've lost 16 in the past 3 months just try not to eat much salty foods they'll make you gain excess water weight and more fruits and juices :) don't worry about it though around 25-30 pds gain is normal , my sister gained 49 and in 2 months after the baby she had already lost it

I am always supportive on this forum but I am personally appalled that you would even think about starving yourself for dinner and having two meals a day. you need to realize you're not only starving yourself but you are starving your BABY! that would be no different than denying your child food after she if born. maybe it will help you realize how important your health and nutrition is if you think about why you're going to gain weight while pregnant...its not like your just gaining 30lbs of fat, your gaining blood volume, babys own weight, fluids, placenta, uterus enlargement and so on. you are a parent now and you have someone else to care for besides your own wants

I am only six weeks and four days and I feel so fat. My jelly constantly feels full and I have pressure under my ribs. I have not had my first prenatal appointment yet. I'm afraid I am going to gain to much weight.  I was 200lbs the week before I found out.  Am I going to gain to much that I look unhealthy?

You were planning on starving yourself?  And are thinking 2 meals a day will be healthy for your baby?  That is horrible.  Especially starting off at such a low weight already.  You need to nourish that baby!  I think its great to eat healthy and maintain a good healthy weight gain, but you need to be eating, and should expect to gain much more then 10 lbs.  Some people naturally gain a small amount, some naturally gain an extra amount even when eating healthy.  Do not compare your weight gain to others.  Maybe you shoud talk to a nutritionist so you could get a good eating plan that will be healthy for you and baby, and keep weight gain under control.  Ive gained on average 40 lbs with each of my pregnancies, and lost all of it within a year, after my 3rd I lost an additional 30.  The weight can come off with work after your done.  Theres also lots of exercise programs that are good for pregnant woman.

Did you really say you were "contemplating starving yourself for dinner, and eating 2 meals a day" ??? seriously....oh my gosh, you really should thibk twice about being pregnant. Thats so wrong, if youre hungry it means the baby is hungry....so youre just gonna starve your child ?? Wowww.
