Well I thought we had a name, but now I'm being indecisive...

Ok, DH and I agreed on Alaina Danielle but I'm still not certain.  I'm considering a couple other names.  The name Lily keeps sticking in my head for some reason and my kids love it.  Plus with the situation with my mom I kind of would like to honor her, but at the same time I don't REALLY like her names: Mary Catherine.  I realy don't like Mary and Catherine is a family name...it's also my name and I've never particularly liked it.  So, please vote on what you like best...dont' just vote on the one with my moms name just becuase.  Thanks ladies :)

well as you know Grey almost was named something else...I was stuck dead-heat between Rylan and Grey (I prefer Rylan but EVERYONE else in my life liked Grey...and that means a lot to me)....and so as he was born I remember laughing and saying "hello baby, what should your name be?" and we heard a nice peal of thunder and Josh glanced out the window and said "well it's nice and stormy outside and the sky is positively Gray..." so we went with that...God was giving us a sign.

I voted Alaina Danielle. When I was preggo last time I hesitated on her name all the way to delivery and once she was born I couldn't imagine her being called anything but Aspen because she looked just like an Aspen to me. Maybe once you deliver you can make your final decision on what name comes to you when you look at your little princesses face. :)

What about inverting your second option and making it Alaina Lilian?

Instead of making yourself decide now, maybe have 2-3 names in mind and when you see her made you will "just know".

I voted Alaina Danielle! Alaina is a really nice name and im a bit biased with the Danielle bit as my name is Danielle! Lol! However i also love the name Lily! If you dont like Mary how about changing it to Marie! So it would be Alaina Marie or Lilian Marie! Its close to Mary and has a nice ring with the first names!

Lily is what keeps sticking in my head for a nicname though.   But I'm not sure DH will even go for Catherine.  The problem is that when I see or write Catherine it reminds me of ME more than my mom becuase she always went by MARY, but I really dont like that name at all.  I probably won't do either, my Mom has always said that I pick beautiful names and I know she liked alaina danielle and lilian alaina.  Matter of fact when I was thinking of Liliana she is the one who suggested Lilian so I guess that in itself could be a tribute. ?!?!?!

Well I have to say...in my experience, even a name that you're not crazy about (only in the case of a middle name, mind you) that honors a family member is very special. you may not like the sound of it, but every time you say or write the name, it fills your heart with love because you know that up above they're smiling at the honor you've done them...which is why Grey's name is Grey Joseph....when Josh's grandfather was ill, the day before he died he folded me in a hug and said "you take care of my grandson, my great-grand-daughter, and that beautiful little boy in your belly...you hear me? I love you and you're one h*ll of a woman."...I was like 7 months pregnant at that point.

I don't really like the name Joseph, but every single time I write it I know that we're honoring a really special man....and it really makes me feel like it's a part of the healing process when Joe's widow called me up and said "naming your baby boy after my husband is the greatest gift I could imagine...we are so honored..." the day after he was born.


so maybe consider that..but if you truly hate the name, then you hate it and there's nothing for it LOL.

I love both Alaina and Lilian, but I'm not crazy about Danielle! Maybe Alaina Catherine?
