Yes I'm aware that "the pull out method" is NOT a form of birth control. I put that in their to help explain the circumstances concerning "the event". But thank you for the information on the amnio. I still have some time to think about whether its worth the risk of doing it now versus waiting. Either way I have my family who's been a great help with this so far. Ill keep you posted ladies and once again THANK YOU FOR YOUR ADVICE & CONCERN !! This forum is awsome!
You can do paternity testing if you choose to do an amnio or cvs, but there is a small miscarriage risk.
Also, just to make sure you know this -- the pull out method is NOT a form of birth control. There are enough sperm in pre *** to get you pregnant. Please consider using real birth control in the future and always use a condom to protect yourself from stds.
Good luck!
The risks would be miscarriage. I don't know any doctors that do paternity testing while pregnant either. You'd have to check with them.
Checking your hCG wouldn't do much either. The levels vary widely with each female, and you can be outside the "normal" for how far you are. You could try, but it's not really reliable.
Well yeah I guess not having a period doesn't help things at all. I DIDN'T have a period in January. I haven't had a period since November but I'm not that far along. I'm just now approaching my 10th week. I'm aware that ALL the dates are estimations.. but there's still a bracket & time frame of when conception "likely" occurred. That's what I'm trying to determine. Because by Ultra sound its saying I'm (now) 9 weeks and 4 days pregnant. But every pregnancy site I go to gives me diff dates of conception or diff due dates..?? Do any of you think that checking my hcg levels will help date the pregnancy more accurately?and also.. do any of you know the risks of having a dna test done in utero? Thank you
I would say guy #2. My EDD is the 29th and I was told I conceived between 3rd and 6th of Feb. (By doctor after an ultrasound and blood work) Your due date is calculated from your last period and your ovulation is later(about 12-14 days). Your last period was the 16th January.
Judging from these dates: there is 8 days between our EDD, so you should have conceived between 26th and 29th of January. With your irregular periods it is likely though that you don't conform to the natural monthly cycle so these dates are useless if thats the case.
These are specifics for me they do not mean that it is correct for you an ultrasound and a doctors appointment will give you more specific information and even at that you will not be sure until you have had a paternity tests once the baby is born.
All the best with your pregnancy and congrats :)
ALL dates are estimations, including conception and your due date. When you have sex with more than one person in a cycle it could be any man's baby. Implantation after conception can occur 7-12 days post ovulation giving you almost 2 weeks in which your dates can be off. A DNA test is the only way to know.
Wow.. Guy#1 JUST had a son like a month ago by someone else. I thought that mightve
been the father but the condom thing confused me. I know they're not 100% and having a high fertiliy gene that runs fierce in my family (I'm no exception. You so much as wink at me and I'm pregnant! Sheeesh.) probably didn't help any (NOT getting pregnant that is) I do remember the condom sliding up after "the deed" was done and he had ejaculated. I was on top (sorry for the t.m.I.) but, could that have been enough leeway for the lil fellow to swim up stream? Or is it more likely that there was some sort of tear or microscopic hole? Good thing about all this I guess is, he's the best choice out of the 3 and happens to love me very much. Although I'm not exactly thrilled about being pregnant. I was so shocked. I'm coming around to the idea..
I counted back and it looks like you concieved on Sunday january 16th. It looks like it would be guy #1 even though you said he used a condom. It might have been ineffective. It only takes one little swimmer. And it matches your Oct. 23rd due date, which is exactly 40 weeks from the 16th of January. Early ultrasounds are really good at determining EDD and gestational age if they cannot go by your LMP.
The only way to tell for sure is going to be a DNA test. But healthy sperm can survive in the vagina for up to 5-7 days. Good Luck.
