When did your cervix start to change?

I have my 34 week appt today and im hoping i've at least started to efface a little.  I've been sealed up tight until now, but i can tell my baby has dropped.  I've had lots of pelvic pain and pressure down there.  Im hoping to have made at least a little progress.

My cervix started to change at 27 weeks it was a finger tip open they thought I was going to go into early labor i stayed at the hospital but than they let me go at 29 weeks cus my cervix closed back.but than I dilated 2 centimeters at 31 weeks. so now I'm 33 weeks and waiting so I think it depends on your particular situation hopefully you have better luck.

I had a membrane sweep when i was 40 weeks and it was still high and tightly shut. I went into slow labour on the tuesday and my cervix was checked on the wednesday and i was still not dialated but i believe my cervix had come down (as the doc didnt have as much trouble reaching it lol). I was still in slow labour the following Saturday (yes a week later) and i was finally dilated 1cm going up to 3cm with a contraction.

Your still very early. You don't WANT changes to your cervix now. Pregnancy is 40 weeks, you've still got 6 to go. It'll happen when the time is right.

My first I went into labor at 38 weeks at only 1 cm and had her 12 hours later. My second I started dilating at 32 weeks and was 2-3 cm by 36 weeks and still didn't give birth until 39 weeks. Having changes to your cervix doesn't really mean anything other than baby will be coming in the next month or so.

I'm not real sure because my cervix was never checked till I was in labor. But, my labor started at 37 weeks and he was my first. I had effacement pain for a few days and then BAM...labor. People kept telling me first time mothers don't usually go into labor that early so I was a little surprised. I nearly had him at home in the snow. So...pay attention! HAHA!

my cervix was measuring short discovered at 31 weeks... baby dropped around that time too... they thought i would go in early for sure and i was even in the hospital for a bit...  long story short, i didnt start to show real cervix change until 37 weeks when i went into early labor and dilated to 3 cm in less than 24 hours... bu thats where it stopped.. i sat at 3 cm and 90% effaced until i gave birth at 39 weeks 6 days..

dont feel bad if you havent made progress. my cervix showed no more shortening until 37 weeks too after it was first discovered..
