When do you start going to OB Appts. every 2 weeks?

I was wondering when women start to see their OB every 2 weeks. I am 32 weeks and my doctor told me to come back in one month, which I will be 36 weeks. Then he said that at 36 weeks, I start going every 2 weeks. So, I am really confused. LOL.

Also, I was wondering at how many weeks did your OB's start checking you for dilation and effacement? Should it be soon here? Do you think they will when I get my Group B Strep test done? Thanks!

I have had the same doc for all 5 of my babies.  I always start going every 2 weeks the first 2 months of my last trimester, so I guess that would put me at 28 weeks.  Once I hit 36 weeks, I go every week.

My OBGYN will NOT check me for dialation or effacement at all even before my Csection because he says that since I"m not going into natural labor that I shouldn't worry about it and that a pelvic exam can bring on labor or introduce bacteria into the environment.

My obgyn is testing me for Strep group B at my next appointment here at 34w5d or so.. (I really did confuse myself last night. I'll be almost 35w at my next appointment... not 35w5d)

I started at my 28th week going every two weeks.  Now I'm at my 34th week.  I have an appointment this Monday, so I guess I'll see if it changes or stays the same.  I guess it's like the other ladies said, it depends on the doctor.

I started at 26-28w I think...But I'm high risk, and I know that if your high risk they may start the 2 week appointments at around 23weeks or so. basically every other appointment for me is a U/S to make sure TJ is growing great.

And if your high enough risk (preterm labor, GD, Placenta Previa w/bleeding, things like that) they will begin seeing you EVERY WEEK at 35 weeks or so.

My OB said they'll see me each week at about 35w simply because my appointments have been at 28w5d-30w5d-32w5d so it'll be at 35w5d at my next appointment I think.. UGH I confuse myself!!!

I know I can't believe that we don't have much longer to go! I went ahead and went back to my original doctor. It just seemed like the other one didn't really care and I don't like that. I am hoping that when my doctor checks me for group B that she will tell me if I am dilated or anything so i will know. LOL.

If you are not having any complications, they generally want to see you every 2 weeks after your 32nd week. But all doctors are different! I was 30 weeks when my doctor said she wanted to start seeing me every 2 weeks. I think around 36-37 weeks is when they check for effacement if all things are proceeding normally, but that's a guess.... everyone and every doctor is different! You and I are both getting close. :)

I was going every two weeks after I hit 20 with my daughter, I was having lt bleeding and they just wanted to keep a check on me. Thank goodness they did because at 34 weeks I went into labor, they stopped it and i was in every week for 3 and she was born at 37. With my son I had placenta previa so I was on lt bed rest from weeks 20-30 with doctors appts once a month and then at 30 weeks every 2 weeks and at 35 every few days and at 37 he was born. Group B strep was at 35 for me.

I just started going every 2 weeks after my 32 week appointment. My OB has not checked for dilation or effacement. I thought he would yesterday because I told him I was having lots of braxton hicks contractions. My OB checks for Group B step at 36 weeks.
