They say to avoid raw eggs (which would be mayo and fried) because of a risk of bacteria that could give you an infection. I was told just use common sense. If the mayo seemed to be sitting out a long time, maybe avoid it. If the eggs are questionable, don't eat them. Basically, if you are concerned about getting sick from it not pregnant, avoid it when pregnant too.

We worry faaaaaar too much about everything (and we are given way too many warnings about stuff) in the U.S.

My aunt (who is a doula) told me eggs are very good to eat while pregnant because they're an excellent source of protein!! That is with them being cooked thoroughly though! :)

When I was pregnant with my daughter 9 yrs ago I wasn't told anything to avoid specifically for food. The time around I was given this huge list. I haven't really followed it much. Eat what sounds good if that means eggs or lunch meat great. No point being scared by a statistic!

Its only a "concern" if eggs arent fully cooked (this includes the yolk) however, i dont pay any mind to that kind of stuff. I ate whatever i wanted with my first and she came out healthy as can be and weighed almost 8 lbs. With this baby, i did what they told me to as far as how much i should eat what i should eat what i should drink etc..and am now looking at a possibly growth restricted baby.

Might just be a coincidence but from now on i will be eating whatever i want and drinking what i want(with the major exception of alcohol and tobacco- i am staying away from both)

Agreed its not bad when they are fully cooked. However stay away from raw ones or things made with raw ones like mayo and certain dressings.
