I was told it was safe I have to be on a heartburn med due to having gastric bypass and that was dr told me to take it in place of prevacid but it helps me just double check with ur midwife or dr
If you are taking an iron supplement then please be careful with Tums. They can reduce the absorption of iron.
I took papaya enzyme for heart burn. You have to take it before you actually eat. You can find it at health food stores. Works like a charm.
Yes, it's safe!! Tums are also safe, but I am taking Zantac and have most of the pregnancy. According to all my tests and u/s, he is safe and sound :)
Thanks!! I will double check with my midwife because I think I have heard some negative things about it, but I can't remember where I heard it or from who. BUT it works and I mean, I drink water and it brings it on. I have been more diligent in my diet and cutting things out that make it act up, but now nothing is working. It is a horrible thing to have. I just try to remember it's all for a good cause. ;)
I've never been told it's unsafe. When I was pregnant I had HORRIBLE acid reflux and was taking it 2 times a day for weeks. I would fall asleep drinking water and slept sitting up in an effort to reduce it, but nothing other than Zantac worked. I hope you get relief soon! Acid reflux is horrible.
