am i dialated?

Hello i have a question, so i just got out of the hospital for premature labor with contractions and dialted 2cm. They let me come home with meds for contractions unfortantly im still having them but not close enough to go to ER. Im currently 30 weeks. So my question is that me and my hubby had sex and i couldnt feel anything and he said it felt werid also so we stopped. I dont feel any different just alot of pressure like ive been feeling. Could i be dialated since i couldnt feel anything?

Lesley- yeah thanks i hope so too. I tell baby to bake more everyday.

Buggie216- well i had premature labor with my daughter and dr didnt put me on bed rest until my mucus plug came out. And i was constantly changing from 2cm to 3 weekly. He said that ur body doesnt go from ur last menstral cycle it goes how big the baby is and im measuring 2 weeks prior to my due date. I love my dr and i wouldnt qurstion about him. Im also getting the progesterone and weekly steriod shots to help him delvop. So im pretty confident that ill have him at 34 to 36 weeks.

Jennyjoelogan- well he told me no walking alot and to drink lots of water cause most likely the premature labor was from dehydration. But yes most likely i will talk to him today! Thanks

You should take it easy. You can be in 2cm for weeks but your only 30weeks baby still needs more time to get his lungs ready for birth. Dr should put you on bed rest or limit you on things. Talk to him tomorrow and see what he says. Hope everything goes gpod and your able to keep baby more time.

I cant believe your only 30w, having preterm labor...and your doc doesnt have you atleast on pelvic bedrest...thats pretty irresponsible. Its way to early for your baby to be born and would be in the NICU for weeks...having sex even protected will stimulate dialation. Im really at a loss for words with your drs...

Well yeah i know im 2cm dialted but wanted to know if i could be more than that now since i couldnt feel it. Dr. Said sex was fine as long as no bleeding cramping or until my water breaks. But he said to wear protection cause the sperm stimulates the cervix and makes u dialate and we listened protection was on. Of course dr knew i went to hospital i was in there for 2 days.
Lesley27- Dr. Checked me leaving hospital and i was still 2cm dialated. But i have an appt tomorrow for my weekly exam and ill talk to him about it then. But i thought i was going crazy not being able to feel my husband inside of me. But ive been put on meds to stop contractions, he didnt think bed rest is medically nessary right now so i guess ill see tonorrow! Thanks ladies

you are dialated for sure... like you said the 2cm, other than a Dr checking you its impossible to know if your even further now?... my concern is did you get the okay from your Dr to have sex? like did they give you any restrictions when they sent you home?? bed rest, ect?

Well they said you were at least 2cm dilated so I guess the answer is yes. But I would talk to dr about sex if he is ok with you still continuing that considering you had the premature labor. They may tell you to refrain for now until contractions have stopped. But make sure your dr knows you went to hospital if they dont already. The pressure could just be due to the baby being so low. It might be a good idea to call dr just to make sure everything is ok and you shouldnt be doing anything else.
