amoxicillin

is it safe to take amoxicillin while you areabout 13-14 weeks pregnant and if so what are the risks to your baby while you are takeing it ?

I was and am on amoxcillin right now, my Dr said its the safest antibiotic during pregnancy, I am currently 9wks and 4days. But I also got a yeast infection after I started it but both pregnancy and antibiotics cause them so yeah!!! Lol, well other then the yeast infection I felt my baby moving for the first time today, so hopefully everything is okay

This May be a coincidence but I went to the dr for an u/s on a thursday. I was 8 weeks and heartbeat was strong  at 174. Next day I got really sick and was prescribed the  z-pack....that night I had very heavy bleading and went to the ER. Heartbeat was still strong at 176. I was diagnosed with threatened miscarriage. My next apt is next week and I will be 12 weeks. I pray everything is ok.  But I do wonder if the antibiotic had something to do with the bleeding.

i have taken amox for all three pregnancies with no harm they wont prescribe to you if its that harmful

I don't see how that could be professional for the nurses to laugh at you. I swear excellent customer service doesn't exist anymore. I'm sorry for your loss.

I don't see it being the medication, I was prescribed it during my pregnancy and my son was fine. I'm so sorry for your loss.

it was prescribed amoxicillin by a doctor in the er. however after being told to take this i had a doctors appointment and my doctor couldent see me when i told the nurses something was wrong that i could not feel my baby move anymore they kinda lafed at me they would not let me see a doctor did not tell me anything they resceduled me an appointment for 5 days later when i went to the doctor again on my new appoinment day i was told i had lost my baby i was 14 weeks and 5 days at tis point and when we went at 10 weeks for an ultrasound my baby was perfectly healthy i was just asking this question to get some answers my baby was fine untill i started takeing these pills and the day i was told i had lost the baby the dr said he dident know why i lost the baby 10 seconds later he told us that something was wrong with it when it was just a sperm im just verry conserned that they messed up and caused me to loose my baby.. thank you for your replys hopefully my husband can get to the bottom of this and finally be able to rest peacefully knowing that we some justice for our baby

Nothing is safe until you speak with your Dr! What may be safe for one pregnancy may not be safe for another. However, if its been prescribed by your Dr. I'm sure its fine.

Hi, I was prescribed this by my doc for cystitis. I was about 9 weeks, BUT I had to stop taking it as it caused really bad cramps and bloating! But as my doc prescribed it then I would say it was safe x
