bh or actual contractions?

Hi ladies im 26+6 and i have been having sharp pains and tightening in my lower stomache off and on just not really close together and wasnt sure if ita braxton hicks or actual contractions I went to l&d a few weeks ago for same prob just not as painful and they said to monitor contractions and time them but not to worry much so im still confused...what are yalls opinions of what it may be?

Bh should go away when you change position and as far as I know they shouldn't be painfull until your near the end of your pregnancy call your doc or midwife they'll know more and can tell you for sure whats happening
