Ive tried everything, when i was in high school was on pill for a while, kept forgetting to take it and when i did had irreguar periods, and when i did get them i had them for 2-3 weeks at a time, and due to having iron-anemia i had to stop taking it for blood loss, after having my daughter i tried the implant in my arm, after 7 months had to get that removed as my periods were constant, after meeting my husband when my daughter was 1 i had the mirena inserted as a last resort contraception for my bleeding and to help my iron, with the mirena i experienced pain during sex it did not help my periods and got pregnant the week i was due to get it removed, but have a healthy pregnacy and i am 24weeks with a boy! so my conclusion everyones bodys are different!! And we will be sticking with condoms from now on, Hope you find the one yoi are looking for
Thank u so much u ladies have given me a lot of info to think about I really appreciate it
I had the implant in my arm after my fIrst. I gained 80 pounds in 7 months. But never got pregnant so I guess it did it's job. Took it out when TTC, got pregnant the same month & after I had my second I got on the pill. Took it on time every day no problem but got pregnant. Miscarried at 14 weeks with a little boy & decided to go back on BC so my doctor gave me the Nuvaring. That worked well for 3 months and then I fOund out I was pregnant on the day that works of been my due date with my little boy I lost. my body is very fertile, and BC just don't work for me.. lol im going the permanent route this time.
Nuvaring for all the reasons stated.
I was on nuvaring for four years before I stopped taking it so I could try for another baby and I will be getting it after this baby also.. its so easy and like the other poster said, I didn't gain any weight, acne was gone and definitely wasn't hormonal at all! You put it in for 21 days and then take it out for 7 days then you get a new one and put it in for another 21 days and so on.. on the 21st day when you take it out you will start your period a little after and mine lasted anywhere between 5-7 days. Then on the 7th day you put a new one back in and it repeats its self every month .. I personally have had no bad experiences with it
I've had pills and nuvaring. I'm in the same boat as you. I forgot pills. I'm scared the shot will make me gain weight. I'm allergic to latex so can't use the patch. My doctor won't do IUDs for personal reasons which I agree with. My coworker got the implanon and she is allergic to it and itches like crazy and she said it really hurts. I think I'll end up going back on nuvaring. I didn't gain weight. It was a little awkward to take out to have sex but it's easy. It stays in for 3 weeks and it's painless.
Honestly I would never recommend the pill. Hopefully people on here can help with advice on the other kinds of birth control. I started losing my hair when I started the pill and it's never grown back where I lost it since I've stopped. I've been off the pill for almost 2 years.
I had the cooper iud I loved it I took it out and got pregnant right away. Planning on getting it again.
The implanon implant in your arm, but I did not have a good experience with it. My friend loved it though and neither of us gainef weight. It did make me hormonal. Personally, I like nuvaring. Its a small flexible ring, you or your doctor insert it sort of like a tampon (but with your fingers) and it stays in place 3 weeks. It lessened my acne, I never gained weight, I had no hormonal issues with it. I hate pills, I can't remember to take them and they always made me gain weight. But the nuva ring is expensive if you don't have insurance! It's over 100 $ a month.
